Not sure if this is the right place but....
I went down to the allotment today to do some strimming only to find this.......

Yesterday that was a greenhouse with over 300 plants growing very well in it most of which are now ruined.
I did save a few.....

If not 8 weeks work has gone to waste. (http://forums.allaboutjazz.com/images/smilies/y_crying.gif)
How horrible... I do hope that the plant that you have saved survive and grow well for you. Are you short of anything that can be sent through the post?
What happened? High winds? Vandals? or friendly fire from confused Yanks!!!!
???
gosh i hope you can get it all back - do you have a chance to sow it all again?
Thanks for the offer flossie but I'll get by some how.
It was caused by wind, the company that made it know there is a problem with the brackets (they are falling to bits inside at the garden center) that say a 30% complaint level is acceptable.
I will try to resow as much as possible but its a little late for a few bits.
That's awful! I do hope you can salvage some of it.
Mother Nature can be beautiful - but harsh too!
Hope you recover soon. :'(
Dear grief. Poor you.
Hope the surviving plants pull back quickly -- young 'uns like that are often tougher than they look. Fingers crossed for you.
Scary. Very sorry to hear about/see the damage. Surplus tomato and chilli seedlings here in London but suspect too far from God's own county. Are you sure you're ok for seeds?
cool in which case pop down on a list all the seedlings you have lost.
Price up replacements in the garden centre and send them a bill for replacements.
I am happy to yell at them if you want!
You have time to still plant a lot of stuff, I would pick up tomato plants and peppers but plant your corn etc. (I can send you as much corn as you need.) You have time to plant squash, courgettes ,pumpkins and cukes easily, even runner and dwarf beans, salad stuff can be still done and most brassicas. I can let you have seeds to all of the above if you wish.
I am sorry for the loss ,PM me

Mick, just realised you're not far from me. I've got some spare seeds and probably spare courgette and pepper plants if they're any use to you. Guess it's a spare greenhouse you need really!
Thanks for all your kind words and offers of plants Tracy (my wife) and I are very grateful to you all but we should be fine for plants and infact it looks like we'll be giving some away due to the fact I always think I'll get more in than I ever can.
good to hear, any joy from the company you got the greenhouse from?

We got our money back but only after I had a tantrum in the middle of the shop, it was the second of these greenhouses I've had this year but I wasn't having the "we can only give you an exchange" thing this time.
Good for you Mick, it's amazing what can be achieved if you're prepared to have a tantrum in front of the other customers isn't it ;)
I know you've said you're okay for plants, but please do ask if there's anything you need, i'm sure between us we could rustle up some seeds for ya ;D
Sorry to hear your news Mick, my plastic greenhouse in my garden has taken a battering I had a lot of plants go over, managed to salvage 99% of plants so I was very lucky.
blimey Mick - not what you want to find! Glad you are so positive about it and I'm sure most things will pull through! ;D

I think all allotmenters have to be positive , don't they? we did loose our sweet corn but I always seem to kill it anyway, the main things we lost was plants I'd grown for hanging baskets that I'd grown for family members so I may buy them in. (god I hate spending money)
