Title: Anyone know about Jerusalem artichokes??
Post by: Jasminflower on May 10, 2007, 09:44:32
Somebody kindly gave me five Jerusalem artichoke root/bulb/thingys. Iwas told to plant them about five inches into the ground, which i have, however i don't know anything about them, ie how long they take to grow, how large they grow etc. I've never actually cooked them either, so any advice will be welcome.

To get rid of it, dig it out in early spring, and leave the bed alone for a bit.  Once the bits you left behind have grown a bit, dig them out. Then, once it's really clear, plant tender veg.
