sow tomato seeds now?
I don't know but I have loads of seedlings I could give away!! Whereabouts do you live? I doubt they post well :-/
I imagine it depends on where you are located and if you grow them indoors or outdoors.
I grow tomatoes outdoors and some of my seedlings have only just germinated. I'm hoping we will have a long hot summer this year. :D
Sally I am in Manchester. I already have a number of plants but I just wanted to grow another variety. Thanks for the offer. I would start them off indoors and then be putting them out in pots in the garden as I don't have that much room avaliable on the plot.
No, not too late at all. They might be a bit behind some others for a while but 'cos it's getting warmer, they will soon catch up. ;)
Donna xx
Depends on the variety... some are long season 100days + and we can't always rely on four good months to the start of frosts/fruiting..
???
True Saddad, good point. I am in the 'Sunny South' and mine are still going strong into October most years so I am forgetting that this doesn't apply to everyone :D.
Donna ;)
i sowed in May last year, and I didnt have a bumper crop but i did get a few.
I've only managed to sow one of my 3 or 4 varieties so far, and only one plant of 3 has germinated, so i'm hoping not :-\
Hi Sparkly, I am on the Humphrey Park allotments in Urmston and I have got most of my tomatoes planted in my back garden, but still have quite a number of Red Pear in pots (about 7" high). If you fancy having a couple of them to try something different let me know and we can arrange to meet on your plot of mine. I have got too many really and was just going to give them to other plotholders, mind you, perhaps you are just asking because you fancy growing some more, anyway the offer's there, Lin
