Ok Just Draped across them ? Do u Pin down etc ?
from the planting day till picking ?
And bought from Garden cen ? :)
Or fleece - see below. Keeps the flea beetle off too.
Can the Whites not lay through netting, Veggie? They can be very determined!
Yes Grace - pin to the ground, allowing a tuck for growth.
Oh - plants? You'll have to be quick like a bunny!! Summer-Autumn cabbages should be sown by now - Spring, July-August. Get eg Marshalls catalogue - or view online?
Thanks Off to get some seed ,Should catch up if i,m fast Thanks all !!
Fingers crossed then ;)
PS - do NOT forget your White Sprouting??
Or Purple if you are in that rut!!
White Sprouting??
Or Purple if you are in that rut!!
Still time to sow theses ?
I have a packet of GrayHound Cabbage says sow Feb To July so theses should be ok ,
Would you sow direct in ground or in cells !!
Thanks Tim
Again, just!!
Me? Given the weather non-pattern I would do them in modules/cells for June planting. You then know where you are without taking up seedbed space.
thanks Tim
Fleece is the answer-and if you can share or have a big garden then buy it by the roll from a horticultural supplier rather than a GC-much cheaper
Hi! just jumping in - does this advice apply to red cabbage as well? I sowed mine weeks ago and are now in cold GH getting ready to put out. does that fly eat these as well?
Never done it before and don't know whether they are summer or winter - just love it pickled. xa
I see red as an Autumn cabbage.
they'll have a go at anything, even the seedlings we've left out to harden off have been under mesh
we have 2 red cabbage, red cap and kalibos that are summer cabbage ;D
PS - don't forget that weeds just love the protection of fleece!!
