I'm sure the seasons are a lot earlier and later than in the past. do you think we need to adjust sowing times etc to take this into account. the winters are certainly milder than im used to and was wondering if seeds should be sown earlier than the packet recommends
I sowed, and planted out my tomatoes, cukes, peppers, beans and squashes at least 2 weeks earlier than I did last year, also put the spuds in earlier. Everything's a foot high and looking great. But I'm not happy because now worrying about a late frost. I never learn.
As so often said, have a go - but keep plenty in reserve?
In all my postings I keep going on about planting early, today I experienced the downside as gales are whipping across the Mersey. My runner beans are ok but minus leaves and I had to stake my broad beans and put small twigs around the courgettes. Even my homemade greenhouse fell over!
