Title: bean canes and black?????
Post by: tomatoada on May 08, 2007, 09:28:47
My bean canes are covered in a black soot like substance.   Does any one know what this is?    Some were new last year and some vary in age from 3 to 10 years. I want to try and clean them as they look awful.  Would Jeyes fluid be O.K.   Thanks for any help.

I know you can get some fungal disease or another from canes. I would have thought Jeyes was just the thing to kill off any nastiness.

Typical/normal.

Jeyes/Armillatox - yes. A winter routine before stacking away!
