I got an e-mail from T&M last week telling me their veg seeds are half price!
I have more than enough seeds already but I just cannot resist the bargain. :-[
I'm trying to decide which seeds to buy and would love to know what veg varieties from T&M people love and grow year after year. :)
I'd like to know what people do not like (ones with poor taste/performance) too.
So far my want list has Orient Spinach, SC4-15 pumpkin and some Italian seeds, all of which I've never grown. :D
So far i would say "Ferline" tomato, very good growth. Not sure of crop yet as its my first year ;)
Leeks - Pandora Organic did well last year
This year trying a new variety of Coriander - Confetti
T&M at half price-?-that`s better ;D
I can highly recommend the carrots for autumn sowing 'Nantes Frubund'.
Sowed last Oct in polytunnel and have been eating them since last week of March - it means I can have fresh carrots all year.
I placed a big order with them last week, among other delights are broad beans for autumn sowing - looking forward to early corps next year - still waiting for mine this year. Also some heritage tomatoes [just what I need more tomatoes :)] which seemed a real bargain.

I'll second that, sown outside in October still got a third of a row to dig.
MOKUM CARROTS..MOKUM CARROTS.. MOKUM CARROTS
I was ecstatic when I found T&M had these after having them sent from overseas for several years.
I was panic stricken when they back ordered on me.
I was relieved when the packet finally came 8 weeks late
and I was over the moon when the 50% sale came on,I bought 5 packets!!!
How can I be so excited about carrots, TRY THEM, they are so crisp they snap when you harvest them if you are not careful.
This is one of only four veggies that I rave about and T&M have started selling it.

i have been looking at getting carrots - early nantes, amsterdam forcing and carota fucino.
But i dont have anything i specificaly order from T&M
I noticed you said that when you grow autumn carrots, they have to be in a polytunnel, is that a definite because I am going to order the ones suggested.. Nantes Frubund and Mokum and was wondering if they are just planted on the plot without the tunnel, whether they would survive... Lin
I planted Autumn King under fleece last Autumn and they did fine.. we were still eating them this March!
;D

If your winters aren't TOO cold you should be fine, otherwise they would benefit from being grown under some hoops with plastic.
I needed carrot seeds so put Frubund and Mokum in the basket! :D
I have so many things in the basket now, I don't know where I can grow all these vegetabels. ::)
Mokum - it says on the website they are suitable for container. Do you think it's suitable for clay soil? My plot is very clay and when it's dry it becomes solid like concrete.
Mokum won't like clay, the roots are very crisp.
I just saw a good posting about carrots ,someone was making a trench for them. Not sure which one though
I have done that in harder ground , filled it with compost and planted in that.
XX Jeannine
Thanks Jeannine. :)
I've just read the post about carrots and am inspired by the ideas given there.
I'm going to try the trench method!
Also going to grow Mokum in a black bucket.
I placed an order on Wednesday, but I didn't get an email confirmation. Did everybody else get one? ???
Yes I got an email confirmation pretty quickly..I'd ring them and check if they have your order and correct details..
Am also going to give Mokum carrots a go, has Jeannine got shares in their suppliers?!
No, but ee by gum,I wish I had, This is the only UK supplier I have found. XX Jeannine
I've ordered a lot from T&M over the years, the email confirmation is usually instant with them. When buying on the net I always check for the confirmation email before leaving the site. If it doesn't appear within about an hour I print the final page and wait till I get the goods. Then if they don't appear, I have a record of the order number etc.
Thanks, I'll call them on Monday to check.
I couldn't resist ordering a packet of Mokums either ;D
