Title: Bind Weed
Post by: ciberman on May 07, 2007, 20:04:53
We have recently taken over a plot that is infested with Bindweed. Can anyone suggest how we can get rid of it?

Dont rotavate it to start with...

Dig it over by hand and pull out the roots when you come across them.. you wont get it all out, but it will be a start. Then just keep pulling it up whenever it appears throught the rest of the year.

Next year when digging - just repeat the above... eventualy you'll start getting on top of it.

There is'nt really a quick fix.

Roundup does it a power of no good.

you learn to live with it after a while..

Little and often - painstakingly removing it as it appears by hand seems to be the only way of getting anywhere with it.... our lottie is covered in it!

Roundup at the right time & in the right place is fine, but it means leaving the land until it takes effect.
