I hope that you can see from this -
Upwards from the bottom - 6 sideshoots - then a flower truss on the same side as the last sideshoot but the opposite side to the next leaf frond - followed by another frond & then the leader.
So, make sure you always have a flower truss above the sideshoot that you want to pinch out.
Had to wait until now to get the first flower truss.
Oooh, does this mean I shouldn't pinch out any sideshoots until I get a flowering truss?

???
Glad you mentioned that! Oh for a fireproof reply!!
No - I would have pinched out all those shoots days ago, knowing that a flower shoot would come along!! But I left them to show the progression.
It is only at this stage that you might be in doubt - as things mature, it becomes very obvious.
??
THANKYOU TIM
I've got it now, I shall have to go out and look at my tomatoes tomorrow, it's too cold now to do it
thanks again :-*
Kathi
Gotcha!!
Yes - Bcold.

Hold hard.
There's a frost a cummin!
I should have added that, of course, at this stage, it mattered not leaving the shoots on for a while. Too small to affect growth of the plant.
