how do you plant something in your compost bin.  Do you dig a hole and fill with normal (multipurpose) compost and let the roots emerge from this into the surrounding material?

dont know if my compost bin would support a plant without more soil like material. It is succesfully (but unintentionaly) growing potatoes and carrots. So will give it a stir first
