Title: Onion worries
Post by: MattyJC on April 30, 2007, 21:31:17
Hi there,

Whilst hoeing and watering the Onions this evening I noticed a couple of them have the startings of flower spikes. Does this mean they have bolted and are now  a waste or can I nip them out and be happy??
I have been keeping them well watered and weed free, I also added some chicken manure pellets about a month ago (maybe a bit less)
Looking forward to your advice...as usual  ;D

Matt

Nip out any with flower spikes you see ... they won't store as well, but over wintered don't any way...
