Title: replacement for Vidalia onions
Post by: cambourne7 on April 30, 2007, 19:29:32
Hi Guys,

I had loads of small tomatoes to use up and found this great recipie i would like to try it but i dont know what to use as a replacement for these sweet onions. I have some on my plot which are ok but not really sweet do you think i would get away with adding a little brown suger when the onions roast down??

Personally I would use more or less any onions but white ones are usually sweeter than yellow ones as are the reds. Or ones marked Spanish onions.  XX Jeannine
