Is it ok to put rhubarb leaves in the compost bin? or is there just too much oxywhajamacallit acid?
I have always put mine in the compost, I think it is ok. Hopefully someone else will come along and confirm....? :-\
I always do too. So did father & father-in-law. And we're still here.

Thanks Trevor, it was the other plants that I was worried about killing, never even thought it could be harmful to us when composted but then I'm not growing much food yet anyway ;D
Rhubarb in compost? a big yes
Either compost them, make liquid manure with them, or use them for insecticide. Don't waste them.
use for insecticide robert?
do tell.............im interested in how to do this and havent heard of this method?
Boil them up and use slightly diluted. The liquid is useful when sprayed for greenfly etc.
It's oxalic acid, sorry, sad chemist over here. Will get my coat....
