Noticed that the extra strawb plants we have from last year in the greenhouse are infested with white aphids. ANything I can do? Don't particulary want to spray them unless I have to. Anytime I find a ladybird about I relocate them onto the strawbs and they start tucking inthen dissappear... Or should I leave the pots outside and let their normal prey tuckin at their leisure (if they will)...
Spooky, the best way we have found to control whitefly is to use the 'companion planting' method. This involves planting marigolds/tagetes in the same pot as the strawberries. We haven't used it with strawberries, but find it 100% successful with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Strawbs grown in pots seem to get it more than those planted outside, maybe the pot grown ones are stressed, I don't know. I never get whitefly on outdoor plants, and grow hundreds.
You can try spraying the ones in pots with a fierce jet of water (take the pots outside to do it) it knocks them off, and gives the plants a chance.
