i have had my 3 chickens for about 5 weeks now and they are totally fab, my only is this, Brown hen(her name lol) seems tio have had her beak clipped as the other two hens have pointy beaks and hers is like straight edge, just a bit concerned when i saw this, i got them from the one stop chicken place in grantham

Hi again,
Beak clipping is common practice in commercial houses, supposed to stop the damage caused during agro amongst the birds for a 'pecking' order. Not very nice and totally uncalled for. With luck your Brown Hen (love it) will have her beak grow back to normal.

it could be that her beak was a bit overgrown when he boxed her up so he trimmed it... thats my guess.

I trim my birds beaks as they will overgrow and they find it hard to eat.

If it is cut straight across dont worry - it doesnt sound like it was debeaked which is something completely different.
