Title: Gooseberry Sawfly - Today!

Spotted and slaughtered some gooseberry sawfly larvae. On the lower branches, they had stripped about half. Vigilance from now on....

god, the pests and diseases are early this year, I'll check mine tomorrow, thanks  :)

Not had any yet but the sacrificial Solomon's seal is out so any time now!

I think I have dealt with wave 1 ! I don't think I have seen the end of them.

hi Multiveg,
I also have the gooseberry sawfly, started picking them off but there are so many
had to spray as last resort, what type of spray do you use, they say liquid derris is good for the job ?.......cheers veggie

i was told soapy water will kill the caterpillars, worth a try costs nothing.

Finger and fumb method. Haven't noticed next wave yet.
