A4A Meet @ Barnsdale Gardens 2nd June
Hi all, following from a previous thread, I have managed to arrange a A4A Meet @ Barnsdale Gardens on 2nd June
Everyone is invited, A4A members and friends, OHs etc.
I am waiting for more details from Nick Hamilton, ie costs etc.
The plan is to meet there at between 10:30 and 11:00 on the Saturday morning, we will be met by Nick, who will give us a brief chat, than we can wander around ourselves for as long as we want, have lunch and I would suggest that after lunch we take advantage of our "backstage" passes to the allotments garden. We have arranged a tour and talk from the allotment garden manager.
The rest of the afternoon is then ours, we have been chatting about a seed swap, which seems to be going down well, and maybe we could do this after a cuppa in the restaurant.
I have a list of approx 12/15 A4A members who would like to come already - please PM me or add to thread if you would also like to come, and let me know if you are bringing someone with you.
Kathi

:) thank you so much for organising this,
I'll get a Saturday off work ;D /shades x
Ooo not bringing OH - I want a peaceful weekend thank you! Besides he 'should' be babysitting ;D ;D
Is anybody staying overnight XX Jeannine
Oliveoil - glad you've got him babysitting - my OH is coming, he's never been to Barnsdale and is looking forward to it. He's hoping to learn a bit about some of the planting and also construction of vegetable growing frames etc. :)
SO I think there's about 16/17 of us at the moment
Kathi
Thanks for organising this, Kathi. I'm looking forward to it!
If anyone is staying over night try the fox and hounds at Exton, just down the road.
We got married at Barnsdale Gardens, and fed everyone very well at the fox afterwards, looked like a nice place to stay in a traditioal pub rather than the corporate excess of Barnsdale Lodge for example.
I would really like to come along but sadly have nowhere to park the toddlers.
Hex, thanks for the info.
Shame you can't come - could you bring toddlers?!? Or is that another "Prink13 mad idea"! ;D
Kathi
I can't make it :(
But I hope to see lots of photos, and a report after the event.
Sounds like fun.
Dan
I just might show my mush-and for those staying over there is a decent Chinese place in Oakham, and Stamford has some places to eat as well.
I can`t comment on the local B&Bs as we live so close we have never tried them but there are a few
Cleo , I was expecting to see that mush, I ahve something for you XX Jeannine
I would love to come but can't. :(
May bring OH but not to the talks etc so don't include him in numbers. We may stay over- is there a travelodge or similar nearby?
Oh ruddy hell... Strawberry Fair is onthe 2nd June and we have been wanting to go for years... now we only live 45 min away I promised we would go... will have to confer with the family now >:(
Kathi
I can make the 2nd and balances up my weekend beautifully - my better half has me lined up to take part in a car rally on the 3rd!
Thanks for organising this
Suzanne :)
I am OK for the date and with a lift from the the station as offered I am keeping my fingers crossed I will be OK, problem with standing/walking more tham a little way. It is half term for me so I could rest up ahead of time. I rarely go anywhere these days but am gonna give it my best shot. XX Jeannine
sorry, folks, will have to give it a miss, have a lovely time and take lots of photos for us lot as can't get there ;D
Jeanine, glad you're coming, don't worry about the walking, there are plenty of places to sit and relax and just soak up the individual gardens :)
Oliveoil - hope you can persuade the family that you can come, won't be the same without you :D
Really looking forward to it now - only 5 weeks away!
Kathi
I actually walk better fast than slow, silly isn't it. I can break records for about 100 yards then my breathing packs up. If I saunter,I can breathe super but after 25 yards my back needs 2 sticks. They shoot horses don't they !!!! XX Jeannine
It sounds really exciting - I am trying to arrange to be there. :)
I'm sad.
Late in 1940, we were based at Wittering.
35 years ago I commuted weekly for 2 years to Cranwell.
So - I really tried to figure a way - with Wife.
But no - a bridge too far!!
What a shame, Tim- we'll let you know all aout it!
Mary Mary, try really hard, we'd love to have you there
Tim, my husband is going to be very dissappointed if I tell him eyou're not coming - he's currently working at RAF Wyton, although he's MOD not RAF, but he likes reading up on your RAF postings (Ithink it best not to tell him! ;))
Everyone else - come on, the more the merrier - what about some more Cambridgeshire and Norfolk allotmenteers - ther's more of you out ther - I know! ;D
Is this anywhere Edith Weston, my husband and I have RAF quarters there at Luffenham. I might just get him to come if he thought he might do a bit of memory laning.
I should be able to attend its an hour away from me :-)
I was thinking of coming on the Friday night & staying over but OH says that's silly cos it's only a short drive so I'm trying to persuade him to come & do the driving ;D. It will be great if we can get lots of us there - I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.
Just read my post. I must learn to type. It should say we HAD RAF quarters at Luffenham, in the 60's. XX Jeannine
I'm waiting for my duty rota to be posted, I have requested not to work that weekend as it's also the allotment open day on the Sunday (same site as Saddad), so I might be able to make it! :-\
Would have loved to have come, but I am working that day! :(
Hope everyone who does manage to get there has a really great time!
Tim-you may not be there in body but the `spam doctor` who became a friend will be there and if folk wish to go past Wittering or even see what has become of the Haycock-well I`ll do my best
Thanks, Stephan. I think that The Haycock saw more of us than the enemy - despite the BofB being 'on'!!
Aww, I can't make that weekend. But glad something is going ahead. We are such a friendly bunch ;D we ought to meet up more often offline.
Glad to have MaryMary and Deb P on board as well.
I'm ringing Barnsdale again tomorrow to fix price - but can you tell me (if you haven't already) if you are a RHS member - as they get in free!
Thanks, Hopefully more info to follow tomorrow PM
Kathi
Fraid I'm not :( though might it be worth joining?
I just check ed membership and it £44 a single and £60 sometghing a couple!!
John and I have just had a board meeting over a cuppa and he has decided he is going to come too,the gardens are just 5 miles from an RAF camp he was once stationed at so he is wanting to go look see. We will becoming by car now . so I will not need the lift from Grantham Station after all. So finally after all mu uffing and puffing about trains.lifts etc I will be there with John and at this point we are not RHS members.
Can anyone tell me more about RHS, tempt me perhaps XX Jeannine
Jeannine, thanks for info, I was also looking at RHS site, might join up as well - but need to think about it.
Glad to hear OH is coming, but can we change his name? My OH is a Jon, and Paulins7's OH is a John as well. OK that's it - no more Johns! ;D
Jeannine and Jeannine's John perhaps XX
It's £39.60 if you use this site to join RHS:
http://www.gardenworld.co.uk/rhs-offer.asp
It allows you to take a guest into RHS gardens such as Wisley, Rosemoor, Harlow Carr and Hyde Hall. There is free entry to other gardens but not for a guest. Barnsdale is in this catagory. The monthly magazine is very good. This months issue features wisteria.
I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Family say we have to go to Strawberry fair which doesnt start until 12pm so i'm hoping we can make a pit stop at Barnsdale on the way to say hi to you all!
I'm at R.A.F Cottesmore, just down the road.................i'll see what i can wangle.
Woody, it would be nice to have you there
Kathi
would love tp come...............unfortunatly my wife has a due date of 4th for our baby............unless theres a midwife going.......im afraid ill have to give it a miss.........but have fun............
I did my midwifery in 1966, willing but a bit out of date LOL XX Jeannine
I'm a practising midwife if you want to risk it! ;D ;D
Marestail murderer, I bet you didn't know there were so many midwives amonst us!
I'm not a midwife, although I have in the past delivered kittens, lambs and piglets - not much use at human babies though! ;D
Well this interesting, one that will be great if you have kittens, one that trained in the days when you used an trumpet on the tummy to listen and a real life bona fide up to date one,wow how lucky can you be. Maybe you may have the little sprout early and bring it to show us all, Look at the options here!!! Good Luck XX Jeannine
Hi Prink I see I'm not far from you I hadn't noticed before.
I wish I could come as I'm not very far away but my son will be sitting most of his AS exams the following week. He has Asperger's syndrome so I can't leave him to get on with revision he won't do it unless supervised.
many thanks for the kind offers.....lol..............but i prefer to be sworn and cussed at in private........lol
we will bring the little one along for the next one...........cos im sure with the company and the venue there will be one!
plenty of photos please............
Yes - PLEASE - photos?? With NAMES!!
PS - if it's any help, I delivered our 2nd!!
Hello, is it too late to book another two please? Nothing definate yet, need to change my shift at work, but need to know if we're not too late first.
Thanks muchly, Sand (and Stanley)
Hi all, sorry been away for a week to Camber Sands, so not been checking postings:
Kea - shame you can't make this one, but I'm sure there will be another meet soon
Sand - I've added you and Stanley to list - glad to have you along
I will issue a complete list of everyone coming over the next week, and hopefully hear something more back from Barnsdale as well.
Keep watching this space
Kathi
Hi All, have just heard back from Barnsdale:-
1) The weekend we are going is a "vegetable" weekend, so extra areas of the Allotment garden will be open to the public that day
2) They have not arranged, Yet, a talk from the Head of the Allotment Garden, but are trying to sort that out for me
3) Entrance to the gardens is a fixed price of £4.50 per group member as opposed to £6.oo for adults and £5.00 for concessions - BUT RHS members who come in as part of a group will also have to pay this price!
4) They will need the money in advance! - I am happy to pay out, but must know definate numbers before end of this week 20th May

Bless him,he is so quiet he does tend to sort of blend XX Jeannine
Please add a +1 to mine, too, Kathi, though he will probably go off taking photos rather than come to a talk if there is one.
Ooooh I'm stamping my feet in frustration! My son has a football tournament that day so I can't come.

Hi, if you haven't already booked please don't book for John and I as something has come up here that might prevent us coming. If you have already paid for us of course I will send you a chequr for the monet straight away.
I am still hoping we will make it and if we do we will find you in there some how but don't book us a ticket just in case.
There is only a chance we can't come,it is more likely we will .
We will be comong by car. XX Jeannine
Jeanine - Haven't had to pay yet - will PM you as soon as cheque needs to be sent - see what the outcome is then
Thanks
Kathi
Kathi,
Hooray, just found out that my son isn't listed in the footie squad for that day, so me and hubby are free for the day and would love to come (if we're not too late that is ???). Kids are going to Nanna's for the day so everyone's happy.
Hope we're not too late.
Linda
My problem is that my son living in Holland informed me last night that they are coming over some tiime in the next little while and was trying to make it half term week. I shan't know till closer to the day as he has to get time off and is not scheduled to get it so he won't know for a while either as he has to find his own replacement. XX Jeannine
Jeanine - no worries, we hope to see you there
Linda Tal - glad to have you with us, we look forward to meeting you
Kathi
So sorry but I cannot get a swap on the off duty at work and won't be able to make it :'(
Hope everyone has a lovely time, I will be thinking of you.
Looking forward to the next one!
Sand (and Stanley)

All now booked and (hopefully) finalised with Barnsdale, either Nick or Head of Allotment will give us our talk, I didn't have to pay much out in advance just £30 deposit, so thanks for the offers of cheques, but we can sort it out on the day
Really looking forward to the meet - and meeting you all
Kathi
It's a bit of a trek from sunny Hampshire - but that day I'll be at a wedding in Barcelona, so will have to give it a miss. ;D ;D
I am going to have a root though on sunday to sort out my swaps for the seed swap :-) I think its going to be a fun day ;-)
Don't forget about me , I am still very hopeful. XX Jeannine
I promise that I haven't forgotton you Jeannine or your John! :D
Barnsdale only needed an approx. number, so I told them 22 - but they are not fussed as long as it's over 12!
Kathi
Thanks Kathi for organising this I'm really looking forward to it & meeting everybody- got Chelsea first though.
Hope you all have a great day. I would have loved to come but as I explained Kathi I will be on my way to Devon. Lots of pics please folk.
Lorna.
Did we have to pre-pay?-shoot. I assumed we just turned up?
This all sounds such fun :D... would soooooo love to be there with you all :)... will keep trying to sort something out but not too hopeful :-\
Kathi - as you know I can't come but thought I would send you some of Sarah's seeds that I have been sent and the ones I have... can you pm me your address... if i can come last minute I will surprise you but so far no can do which is just ruddy typical!
:)
re the seed swap,
I can't bring all my seeds, too many ::)
Could you give me some idea what folk want, looking for? I can then have a sort through, thanks /shades x
i think theres 2 cat
1) stuff to go in now
2) stuff for early next year
not sure about flowers?
Cambourne7
Me too, some idea would be a help.
Hope you all have a great time, look forward to hearing about it and seeing pics.
Would love to have joined you but it's a tad too far from Essex.
Have fun,
Maggie.
The weather forecast is 8)
What is the forecast?-up until Friday it`s meant to be heavy rain, might be a case of bring your wellies
I hope that it's better than this weekend, I've got webbed feet now, after all this rain :o
Just noticed that the Independent magazine from Saturday is encouraging readers to go to Barnsdale next weekend for their sessions on organic vegetables! Hope it won't be too packed! Maybe we should take a picnic?
Is there a picnic place as that is what we usually do XX Jeannine
Definitely not allowed to eat a picnic in the seats outside the coffee shop - last time I went, we took a picnic, but had to eat it in the car-park! :o I don't think there is anywhere else, but I will phone and ask tomorrow
Kathi
I dont think i will want a picnic if the weather is like this.
What are the options for eating there does anyone know please XX Jeannine
They have a cafe area and the food is edible
:) Cleo, do they have veggie food? / shades x
Angle Shades, yes they do have veggie food, I can't remember what I've had there before, but they certainly do it - I seem to remeber that it was pretty good food all round, but it is quite snacky rather than a big meal
Kathi
It's descibed as a coffee shop rather than a restaurant but says there is hot and cold food available.
Hi all, just saw this topic and me and Simba would love to come. Read you are all paying on the day, would it be ok if we tagged along, as I would so love to meet you all and get a look at the proper way to be doing things!
HI
How many people are partisipating in the seed swap?
Cambourne7
Jenfur & Simba - yes you are welcome to coma along - glad to have you there
Everyone:- Will aim to meet at about 10:30 at/around entrance/coffee shop, We can wander as a large group or in smaller groups, and will meet up for lunch at some point - we have also arranged a talk by either Nic Hamilton or the head of the Allotment garden - don't know the time of this yet.
I will try to get there a little early to sort out any last minute hitches
Have chacked ref. picnic, there really isn't anywhere to eat other than car-park or on the ground, and in the weather we've been having, I wouldn't recommend it
We'll plan to do seed swap towards end of day, maybe over a cuppa in coffee shop - I know that I'll be giving away some seeds of mine and from Olive Oil - we both have seeds which were given to us by Supersprout, so I'll happily share those with anyone.
Cost is £4.50 per head, regardless of whether RHS member or not
That's it for now, see you on Saturday!

Jeanine and John - I've added you on! :D
Hi prink13
Flossie is picking me up from Newark station at around 10am (I hope :) ) so we will probably not arrive until closer to 11am, maybe you could let them know on the entrance to expect us as part of the group. Sorry, I thought the original plan was to meet 10.30-11am, and if I got an earlier train down I'd have been extremely early, can't change it now without paying extra!
I probably won't bring any seeds to swap as I have far too many already and not organised enough to sort out which I could bring either, but could always post some out to people afterwards if I get tempted ::)
Look forward to meeting you all.
SP x
Sweet-Pea and Flossie, no problem, I'll sort it out with reception desk, I'll probably still be in coffee shop the anyway!
Kathi
i hope you guys all have a fabulous time on saturday, i am dead jealous. please take lots of photos for us that cant come. i will keep fingers crossed that you have good weather. ;)
I'm booked. I'll be there.
:) sweet-pea,could you pm me or Flossie so we know what you look like!
maybe you could hold a cabbage so we will know you at the station :) and don't pick the wrong person up! / shades x
Your inbox is full Grawrc
Empty now Jags.
Really glad you are coming grawrc. :)
Think we'll be there more 11 ish than 10:30 so will make for the coffee shop & hope you are there, if not will catch you up- ohh this is exciting! ;D
Hope you all have a great day... I'll be busy setting up the plant sale for our open day on Sunday!
;D
I guess we just look for a crowd of people with wheely bins full o packets
The good news is that the weather forecast has improved. I`m the 50+ old fart,5ft 9 and that`s just the waist. I will NOT be wearing a suit(funerals and weddings only). Jeans, T shirt and trainers most likely-if anyone mentions Moneymaker tomatoes and you see this bloke on his knees screaming-that will be me ;D
why what happened to your tomatos?
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Message for Sweet Pea - you inbox is full
Which station in Newark will you be arriving at?
Thanks
f
Right i have complied a list of the swaps i am bring with me. And will get them all packaged up tonight or tomorrow.
The swaps inc a pea, a french bean, purple sprouting broccoii, cauli, chives kale, pumpkin, squashes etc I dont have a large quantify in each pack just enough though i think for a fair swap :-)
See you all soon
Cambourne7
I've got quite a few full packs of seeds, all duplicates or unwanted, in need of a loving home! Will bring them allas well as some envelopes for anyone who wants to split up a packet.
See you all Saturday
Kathi
Cam7 sorry I was too cryptic. Cleo doesn't grow Moneymaker tomatoes. He thinks they are totally useless and bristles when anyone suggests growing them. He grows and sells much more interesting varieties.
Mmmmm..... I think I might have an unopened packet of Moneymaker somewhere! ;D
ah i get it now :-)
lucky enough i dont have any moneymaker in my collection !!
I have four packets. I was going to suggest Cleo raffles them to buy nerve tonic, can't bear to see a man on his knees.XX Jeannine

Sorry about that, it was saying only 80% full so hadn't realised! Have now cleared some space, and have PM'd you, but just in case, I will be arriving at Newark Northgate at 9.59am hopefully.

Hi All, so that you can find me tomorrow, I should be easy to spot, late 30s, overweight and have very purple hair! - I think you should all be able to find me from that description ;D
Kathi
Kathi - I am really looking forward to this and seeing you all.
Just so you know me i am the middle aged red head (don't call it ginger) with specs!
I just wanted to say have a wonderful time all of you, I shall be thinking of you enviously!! ;)
exactly what tulippa wrote: have a fab time and enjoy your day!!!
and lots of photos please ;D
Hope you all have a great time. Would have been there with you but going on my hols. I will be seeing Prink13 and Paulines7 this afternoon, I have previously met them so I have something to look forward to. My daughter said they will pick me up at 5am but popped over to let me know I can have a lay in as they won't pick me up until 6am!!!!
Lots of pics please. Safe journey to you all.
My Oh is much more interested in photography then gardening, so I'm sure he'll provide some pics.
I have been given a sweet little picnic hamper to put all my seeds into so i now have no need for the card index box i was using see photo
http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n61/cambourne7/seeds.jpg
I will bring it with me tomorrow to barnsdale if anyone would like it please let me know. Any money offered will be given to charity :)
Cambourne7
I think I still look a bit like my picture , and John is has a beard and is very shy.
hope you all have a super time ;D
And I'm the middle aged sort of brownish [Just topped it up!] haired with specs - looking lost probably. This is soooo - exciting I have my little box of seeds waiting by the front door so I don't forget them. See you all tomorrow. ;D
Marymary I pictured you dressed like someone from Little House on the Prairie, and carrying a small watering can of course.
I`m far too shy to raffle anything-but do please bring moneymaker seeds.
I have just realised I actually don't know where I am going. Can someone please give me a town so I can get directions on mapquest Thank you Jeannine
A1 down to Stamford and go west. Head for Oakham.
I'll be like my photo but without the parsnip, and my hubby Paul will no doubt have his camera out!

Well I've just ironed my gingham smock & dusted off the straw hat! ;D
I'm not sure where I'm going either but OH is in charge of transportation & navigation so we should get there though I don't think it will be before 11.
Have a brilliant time, sorry I won't be there, as I have only just found this thread.
I hope there will be lots of pictures
OK folk-even a Cleo needs some sleep. I wish you all a safe journey and look forward to meeting you.
Have a wonderful time everyone - wish I were able to come too - sigh!
Tricia
Have a lovely day, everyone. Look forward to hearing all about it tomorrow!
I think most of you know what i look like, but i will be there with hubbie paul and another Irish friend of mine called Irene.
I will probably have a rucksack on my back with my seeds in :-)
Dont forget to bring something to write with and makes notes as i am sure that you will want to write down some tips etc..
I'll be coming briefly with seeds as promised then off to Strawberry Fair. OH has bailed out on the fair - typical but poor me and little son have been stuck in the house ALL week and he is really looking forward to getting out.
So see you there ;D
Have a great day today guys ;D ... wish I could be there too !!
:) thank you!
I should be getting ready, not messing about on here ;D/ shades x
Have a lovely day everyone!
I won't be able to make it after all :'(. Cat has an abcess and is booked into the vet's at 10.30.

I didn't realise i was on the list and didn't check the thread until this morning - but I can't come! :'(
If i owe dosh for the entrance fee please let me know and I'll send it straight away, i don't want anyone having to cough up because of my stupidity :-X
PS If anyone's read this before leaving home (shades?) would you pass my message on? And I hope you all have a super time! x
hope you all have a brilliant day - looking forward to hearing all about it
A great day was had by all I think-bright sunshine. I left early to do the watering so am just waiting for our guests to arrive

Thanks everyone for a great day; I really enjoyed meeting people.
Let's hope that we can do something similar again.
A big thanks to Kathi for organising everything.
Had a superb day, great to see people 'in the flesh'!! Thanks to Kathi for organising it, and the seed swap (I got some beans to replace my frosted ones that I lost this week so I am well pleased!!!)

Kathi your an apsolute angel for planning and organising this :-)
Hi Kathi, John and I would like to thank you for organising great day for us, it is easier said than done and we appreciate how much time you put into this.
It was smashing to meet so many of you all, thank you for sharing your seeds and yourselves with us, it was a delightful day.
John as you noticed is very quiet but he was quite taken with the fact that it seemed that so many folks coming together who he thought were strangers quickly became firm friends.
Kathi ,thank you again,
Jeannine and John XXXXXXXXX
Hi everyone,
Mark and I had a really fab day today. Weather was brilliant, company even better! It was lovely to meet you all and a big thanks to Kathi for organising everything.
It was great to see the veg plots and very encouraging to see that it looks like we might be getting at least some of it right ;)
Got a few more seeds now so it looks like more of the lawn's got to go (don't tell the kids!)
Looking forward to next year's event.
Linda & Mark

What a lovely weekend! Barnsdale was beautiful and it was great to put so many names to faces! Aren't we a friendly lot! We than had a lovely time staying overnight with Stephan (cleo) and Jenny, who were wonderful hosts and have a house and garden I would kill for! Went for a stroll around their village this morning before leaving for home, calling in briefly at Saddad's allotment open day, where we saw DebP again!
Thanks so much to Kathi for organising- just checking, do we owe you any money? We paid at the entrance but hope you got your deposit back?
Here are some pics, taken by Paul. He admits they are taken from a photographer's point of view rather than a gardener's, but hope you enjoy them!

We have just got back home having stayed the weekend with Kathi and her husband Jon. What a lovely sunny day at Barnsdale yesterday. ;D It was good to meet you all and I would like to add my thanks to Kathi for organising it. It was wonderful that so many people had travelled so far for the event, especially Grawrc (Anne) who had flown down from Scotland!
Thanks too for everyone who gave me seeds; they are very much appreciated.
I haven't had time to download my pictures yet but hope to put some on later. Those that are already on here though are excellent. I think there should be one of Cambourne7 too which will not show her washing her hair!! ;D ;D

Cleo I agree entirely - I hate photos of myself, but the one PAul took of me smelling the rose is the best I've had taken in a long time - Thanks Paul :-*
Glad everyone enjoyed the day, will try to do something again later in the year or next year - maybe start a new thread later on suggestions for group meets?
Really enjoyed myself, it's the 1st time I've been able to be in a group of people since my breakdown nearly 3 years ago! - so thanks to everyone for making everyone else feel welcome ;)

It was great to meet you all at Barnsdale. I begin to understand why Caroline spends so much time on this forum. I was even persuaded to register myself although Caroline says I can't do that unless I put in some more work on the lottie :-\
Thanks for the nice comments on the photos. If you want a higher resolution version of you smelling the roses Kathi, then just say and I'll email it.
Paul aka Mr Caroline7758
brilliant piccies, glad you all had a good day ;D
Kathi, I had no idea you had had problems being in a group - I think you have found your calling - organising events and making people feel welcome. Please do it again :) Great pic of you too.
Yay im finally on line and want to express how sorry i am i didnt make it. Just before i left OH told me my brake lights were out, so had to go and get them fixed... son was moaning he wanted to go to strawberry fair, was running v v late so went straight there... but karma had its way - on the way home i took a wrong turning and didnt realise til i saw the M25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! major panic - but got some great herbs from the fair.
Looks liek you had the most amazing time - you are all such great photographers!
Glad you all had a great day, the pics are really great. I would have loved to have been with you but was off to Devon for a week. Did manage to have an enjoyable hour or so with Kathi and Pauline on the Friday 1stJune. when they popped in to see me.
Lorna
did you see anything familure on gardeners world?
Lovely pictures everyone. I haven't been for two years but think I will have to try this weekend. Does anyone want to baby sit for a 2 and a 4 yr old?.....
Cambourne I missed GW so cant comment, but my MIL watched it and said it was lovely to see it agian, as she last went two years ago as well for our wedding. We got married in the conservatory in the paradise garden if you saw that.
Wow what a lovely place for a wedding.
I missed GW too - was it good?
there was a couple of nice shots of barnsdale but the rest of GW stunk as usual.
I caught a re-run of a GW with Geoff Hamilton on UKtv Gardens the other day- showing the making of the "Reclaim" garden! :D
I loved the way Geof Hamilton used old junk. A man after my own heart ;D
cj :)

Yes, thanks to all for sharing pics from another who couldn't go. ;)
Just caught up with this looks like you had a great time and weather to match, did no one get a team photo I'm struggling to match names to faces, I suppose it serves me right for not going. ;D ;D ;D
I thought we should do that but then forgot while we were there.
It was a wonderful day with the beautiful garden & the brilliant sunshine & meeting so many lovely people. Lots happened since but I still find myself remembering - we must do it again. :)

Yorkshire is quite a long way from here but it might just be possible if it was during the school hols. Have you got a date yet?
Popular choice seems so far to be late July or the 4th August. But not booked yet, ther is a veggie day on about 8/9 days later ,I forget the date ,it is a Wednesday,I think,it would have been good , but still trying to explore all the options round dates for folk. Check out the site?? XX Jeannine
