If I did what I preach, I would be much happier!! Remember? LABEL EACH PLANT?
Short of labels this year, so labelled the ones at the end of each row. Fine. Until you decide to do what you preach, like spread out the plants.
You guessed!!
I know what you mean Tim. Although I was very good at labelling this year with my lovely home made milk bottle carton labels and permanent marker. Permanent marker purchased from the pound shop - 5 of them in the packet. I suppose you get what you pay for. First sign of water and the labels are as clean as anything.
Ah well, it'll be interesting seeing what comes up. I suspect that I have a LOT of spinach.
Been there, done that!
One small tomato plant looks very much like another, when they're in 3" pots with only 1 label per tray.... Off to buy more labels before I repeat last year's blunder....
Small children also seem to be fascinated with either taking labels out or changing them round in my house!
I have tried to be better this year as I want to save seed from a few toms
so having 70 odd (many to give away) I have potted on into white poly cups and light brown pots
and written on each pot ,so far so good!
Happy Dad labels perfectly, 2 year old son sees dad inserting labels, son copies dad with said labels in random locations, naughty son very pleased with himself and expects praise from depressed dad.......
And never, ever try to be smart and use those pens for labelling DVD's and CD's - they don't half fade quickly... :-[
And as for chitting four different varieties of potatoes in a mini-greenhouse that then gets blown over by the January gales - well, it was fun re-sorting that mixture!
Cheers,
Rob ;)
this is my best trick
Rob - I fell down a flight of stairs a couple of years ago - carrying 4 trays of potatoes. Know what you mean!
Sorry Tim .... but that made me laugh out loud (and I'm in the office!).
