Looking at trying these in flower buckets first year trying to grow things.
What would be the best beetroot to try
And can you grown peas and french beans in pots if so what would be good for me to try.
Hi Joanne. I've grown Beetroot Forono successfully in pots but the round type would also be fine. Peas have been less successful but this year I'm trying 'half pint' from Plants of Distinction which is a dwarf variety. Just about any type of French Bean will be happy in a pot, either climbers or bush varieties. Good luck.

Be careful with tall peas and beans though as the pot will be always blowing over..

Hi Joanne,
It's my first year growing in pots too.
I'm trying, Tomatoes (several different types), Peppers, Chillies, Leeks, Beetroot (I'm trying Boltardy and Solist), Peas (Early Onward, I got my first flowers on them yesterday), Garlic, French Beans, Carrots, Raddish, Lettuce, Spring Onions, Leeks, Potatoes, Cucumber, Physalis (Cape Gooseberry and Tomatillo). I'm sure there's more that I've forgotten.
I want to also try Sweetcorn so I'm going to give that a go too.
It seems that there's quite a few on this site who grow successfully in pots, so it's worth giving anything a go.
Jo.
Hi Joanne.
We are in danger of having the same conversation twice here! See the post started by jo9919 entitled 'lots of things growing' for more ideas. :)
