OK, I've heard so much about these 'wonderful' black buckets that I thought I just had to have some, especially as I don't have a lottie and am growing all my veg in containers.
So........off I toddle to Asda and ask what they do with their black buckets. 'Use them again' I was told. Apparently, the buckets on display are refilled with flowers, they don't get anymore in and they don't throw any out.
Oh well, anyone live near Leeds who knows where the secret stash is???
Jo.
I plucked up courage and asked at my local Co op and came out with ten.
still seen them in Morrisons
... Alishka & KP are the experts .. they'll be along soon, just one mention of a black bucket and they come over all funneee
swooning smiley !
not had to ask for any for a while now (although i did spy some in the co-op earlier in the week).
I felt 50 was enough at the time, i think i was right ! ;D
Garages are a good bet as well... many get blck bucket deliveries of flowers and nobody takes the empties away!

I'm here still waving the flag for the Stirchley Co-op, where they're still giving them away 8)
And our local Pound Shops have really nice Little Maids (that's square bins to you) in fetching colours you plant your ring-culture FREE buckets in......oh, and they cost.....£1? :P
???
Stirchley? Isn't that where Jack Wooley is from? Ask Al Boley, he will know!
;)
Try other supermarkets till you find one who's still giving them away. Alishka - I have my first 2. Given by the chaps in my local grocers. They usually reuse them but do get more than they need. So, I have a slow supply at least. Will take me a while to get to MrsKP's 50 though! 8)
I popped into my local Asda and they said help yourself as they only crush them. Have been in every day this week and have about 10 now in 2 sizes.
Keep trying, Sainsburys use a similar bucket but the morrisons locally have tall thin square ones which wouldn't be much use I don't think.
Our local Co-Op is only small, in fact, I don't even think they do flowers!!!
We never go to Morrisons as it's too far away. I'm going to have a look in Sainsbury's and Tesco at the weekend and see if they do them, if so, I'll ask.
Jo.
Our local florist sold me some last year, 10 for a quid.
Oh, might have a try at our local florist then ;D

My mother-in-law is manageress of a major brand garage. They have stopped getting black buckets from about 6 weeks ago.
