one of the lads on the plots found these, he gave me them..seems to think they are dahlias..eric says not, they were attached to pieces of tuber..I know very little about flowers apart from companion plants so, any ideas, please..am I growing weeds or what ?
Looks like a hat to me. ;D ;D ;D
ha, ha, ha, where would we be without you, ck ;D
Hydranga???
Honesty-ish ?
Yeah, they do look like honesty!
Might just have to wait until it flowers!
so, at least nobody thinks thinks they're weeds ;D..I'll just keep potting them on
Are the stems square or round?
round, i think, I can have a look but it'll be tomorrow :)
they were attached to pieces of tuber. good possibilty then that they are Dahlias
Leaves don't quite look like Dahlia. And definitely not honesty. Maybe Plectranthus?

trouble is, he's just taken over from someone else's plot and no one knows what he grew there, only he had a square grid like frame on the bed..dunno whether that helps ???
Probably not Plectranthus then, that's a houseplant.
Phygelius? It lookks a bit like a Fuschia and a bit like a Penstemon, and spreads through underground Rhizomes (I recently got rid of mine).

They are figwort.
It is a wild flower, herb and very good for the bumblebees.

Labiate family have square stems (if I remember correctly from many moons ago!) and it looked that sort of leaf.
It's Figwort. Scrophularia nodosa.
Yep - I reckon scrophularia too - esp with square stems
thanks, guys, I'll carry on growing it then plant it in a bucket outside :)
handy to have around if you go down with scofula, otherwise known as the King's Evil
