Hi I'm new here & was wondering if any kind soul has a couple of spare seed potatoes by any chance so I could try growing them in a old compost bag I live just outside edinburgh
Thanks for looking in Madrad
welcome,
Unfortunatly i have just given the few left away.
Have you tried homebase and freecycle?
Sorry, I put the last of mine in in the week :( Have you looked in Poundland. Last time I was in there, they had a good size bag for £1(no surprise there then)
Oh and welcome to the site. I'm sure you will enjoy it .

That passed my mind but wasn't 100% sure if it was ok/possible to do that & thanks for replys much appreciated, not to sure about a poundland being around these parts
Madbrad
There are tons in most garden centres and grossly reduced right now XX Jeannine
You could try Alan Romans- he's supposed to be the potato king and is based in Fife (Cupar) if you fancy a run out to save the postage.

I've got some spare Kestrel - will have a peek at them tonight and see if they are still okay, they've been in a plastic bag for the last fortnight, in my garage. Should they be okay to plant now? And does anyone have any suggestion for how to post them, should madbrad be interested?
:)
Hi sally would be more than happy to cover postage for these if they are still ok 7 thanks for the offer
Cheers Madbrad
Madbrad - tried to PM you re SPuds, but your inbox is full! :)
Just a thought
Seed pots will be reduced so much now that they will be cheaper to buy a bag than to post a few

Just thought I would say another big thanks to sally_cinnamon regarding the Kestrel & let you know they are happily coming on in my tubs & earthing them up almost every day(hope I'm doing this rightwith the tubs)
Thanks again Madbrad
Hi Madbrad - thanks for the update! I'm glad they're doing well for you. I haven't a clue about growing them in tubs - in fact I haven't a clue about growing them at all! I just bunged mine in and away they went!
Hope you get a nice harvest from them! Let me know! (I'll be jealous if they're better than mine!! ;D )
;)
