House Martins.
Sky tonight was full of them as we sat eating our second BbQ.
What a joy!

Where are you telboy?

They have not arrived at the Mersey Riviera yet.

We had one nest last year but the magpies have learned to fly up to the nests, hang on, and pull them down. They then eat the nestlings. So maybe they wont be back after such a trauma.

First cuckoo and first swift yesterday! We've had the housemartins and swallows since, I think, the 18th.

South Yorks.

Does this mean it's summertime?  ;D

Loads of swifts swooping around the church tower today.  Very very early for them to be here.
