I decided to grow melons for the first time this year and have been hammered on two sides
1. I had two beatuiful melon seedlings, went to work without opening the greenhouse, and discovered that they do not survive in a temperature of 43C.
2 Watched Gardeners World tonight and Monty kept rattling on about heat.
Who has experience? Is it worth sowing again and should I keep them under cover in the Mersey Riviera?

novice here but isn't a melon very similar to a cucumber and my way of thinking is that if you can grow a cue it shouldn't be too difficult to grow a melon
we've got 4 seedlings in the poly, grew them at home then put them in the cold g/house and took them to the plot at 6 leaves, they'll stay there 'til may then go in the border, give it a go, aal, they're supposed to grow in frames and they taste brill :)

Yes and yes
