Title: spider mites
Post by: lilybetbee on April 18, 2007, 10:31:43
I hadn't grown any bedding  this year so bought a few plants from the nursery, These were sitting on  the kitchen table overnight (fortunately) and didn't get near any of my plants. Son then noticed a long thread dangling down covered with minute bugs, sort of beige colour, I thought these must be spider mites so put all the new plants outside. :(

Will they (mites not plants) survive outside?

Is it easier just to bin the lot and waste a tenner than fight then?
Don't know how easy they are to get rid of as I haven't suffered from them before.

Go back, with the plants and COMPLAIN very loudly. They should not be selling dirty stock!

I know I should, but the nursery is not that near to where I live and I won't be in that area again for a few weeks.

At least phone them up and shout at them then.

Does anyone know if they will die off outside?
