Why do my califlowers get to about 1" high and wither. I have used Cheshunt solution. this has happened 3 times in a row.
I put mine in multi-purpose PB compost, in individual sections of seed trays. Never have any problems.
Good Gourd2, mine are doing the same, and the PSB, someone said I was given them too much water.

My guess is they are too warm!!
A cool well lit place out of direct sun is best after pricking out!!
I have had the same problem, maybe they would be better outside once germinated, as mine have withered in a cold greenhouse
I think that they need to be outside once pricked out, if they are left in a greenhouse with the temperatures we have been having they start to get soft (for want of a better word)
Same here it is a crazy year, mine have been in the ground about three weeks now,XX Jeannine
mine really went down hill a couple of weeks ago, I think it was just too hot for them in the potting shed and a little pot bound as well, so I popped them into their beds - hard to tell if they are picking up or not.
My latest lot are doing fine.
This time they are in teh front window(north facing) rather than the back (south facing), they dont get watered as often, maybe every 2-3 days! Also it is a few weeks later!
I mixed some lime and perlite into multipurpose compost for my brassicas, in the hope of beating the clubroot that got them last year. I forgot to use this for one batch of romanescu broccoli.
The romanescu is the only one to have done anything at all, all the others are really struggling.
Must have overcooked it with the lime...... :(
Still, at least there's time for more. :)
