Just opened an overlooked pack of Celery hearts dated 1 March.  Perfect condition.

Makes you wonder?

Don't it just.  My hubby always says about out-of-date stuff: "shhhh, don't tell it what the date is, it'll never know"

Most supermarket stuff worries me - especially carrots that stay firm for ages when freshly dug ones are floppy after a week

All those chemicals they use to keep it fresher for longer.

I have to plan it right to pick and eat within 2 days.

Did you know they gas bananas, first to stop them ripening at the growers and then again to stimulate them before final didribution.
