Title: Green greenhouse.
Post by: carolinej on April 13, 2007, 22:33:53
Hello :)

I bought the greenhouse from the previous owner of my lottie. It is a bit neglected, and very green with algae stuff.

Is it worth me cleaning it, as the algae may work as shading this year? Or will it be a problem leaving all that green stuff around?

Thanks

cj :)

I clean mine in early spring to let maximum light in when the days are still short.  If the green is on the outside, then I suppose it would create shade or sorts, but if it were me, being me, I would clean it off and start a-fresh.

Yes - we've just scrubbed ours squeaky clean - need every bit of light you can get.

I will do mine just before planting out, they are currently full of plants 'hardening off' so don't want to use detergents around my seedlins
