Title: Phlomis
Post by: Emagggie on April 12, 2007, 23:43:24
I first saw this majestic plant in a local garden. I was given seeds but I understand it will take 2 years to flower. I see there are several types, but none of the pics look as big as the original one I saw. It was at least 3ft tall and the stems were quite large. Does anyone know what the larger type is called- ie fruticosa. (this seems too small). I want one to flower this year and I'm not brave enough to knock and ask for a lump ;D

opooo Emagggie.  A lady a couple of doors along has a clump in her garden and I really fancy a piece to.  If you knock and ask for a lump then I will do the same.  :-\

It wouldn't be so bad if I had something worth offering as a swop EJ, but it is the most fabulous garden with lovely mature shrubs and trees and a very large pond/ small lake  and rolling lawns etc. etc. Mine's a bit insignificant by the side of this garden ;D.I just might pluck up courage when I get back from my hollies, I'll have a big think.
