My arran pilot in pots are showing but the ones in the plot are not as yet. I am running a competition with my 7 year old niece. 2 seed potatoes in very large pots filled with compost. See who gets the largest crop (by weight). Her's came up about 2 weeks before mine!!!!! She added rabbit droppings from her rabbit into the compost. Have no idea whether that is a good thing or not. They were fresh. Will have to see!

I can't WAIT until my first tattie shoots come through.

Not through any desire to taste them or be 'ahead of the game'.

My FIL has planted about 500'd weight of potatoes and I haven't got room for anything else 8)

Can't wait for the first little flowers and I'll dig the b***ers up! "Oooh look! Ickle baby new potatoes FIL, and now we can plant something ELSE where they were!"

Rocket, Accent and Colleen all through on the last couple of days - planted on March 16th.
Tim -noticed you are growing Colleen as well. Have you grown them before? If so, what are they like?

Planted Accent 4/3, heads come through two weeks ago, so I threw some strawed manure on the heads, I went away for four days and come back yesterday and they are up to about 3/4 inches high. The ones I put in pots in the greenhouse are 10/12 inches high so there should be some new potatoes in the next 3/5 weeks, slowly boiled with fresh mint and topped with melted butter yum.  ;D ;D ;D

RDoY, Swift and Lady Crystl all up.

No sign of Mimi yet, planted at the same time - is it because they're so teeny?

Volunteers in beds of previous years potatoes popping up really well (thought I'd dug them all up!), but only one or two of the first earlies I put in about three weeks ago are showing (mulched with mushroom compost - is this a good idea or not?). Second earlies and main still to put in (over the next 2/3 weeks or when I find time).

My mystery potatoes (found on the allotment) are growing really well!! A good bunch of leaves!
My Sirtema and Roseval that I put in about 3 weeks ago have started showing through just now. I will wait till they get a bit bigger to put straw around them (I don't have time for all the hill-building business!).
But we do have milder weather here than in the UK, so I am a couple of weeks ahead I guess. I have my toms, courgettes and melons acclimatizing outside in a sheltered spot :D
