Title: My new mini greenhouse
Post by: Georgie on April 06, 2007, 20:33:15
Fed up with the covers of the plastic types splitting I've splashed out on this model.  I'm delighted.   ;D  G x

Well, it wasn't cheap, but I'm hoping it's a good investment.  It's also very versatile.  Here's a link to the site I used -I got 10% off.   :)

I quite fancy one of those myself  :) we have a conservatory type thing - we call it the lean to, OH keeps his motorbike in it and I squash trays of seedlings etc around the bike but it's not ideal as no ventilation. I've looked at the plastic versions but we are on the coast and is v gusty sometimes so not sure how stable they would be..... but I do like the look of your new g/house... covet covet  ;D best start saving ;D but in the meantime - enjoy Georgie  :D

Greenscrump.  The downside of my new one is that there is no bottom shelf.  Thankfully it is sited in a sheltered spot but in your position I think I'd go for a four-shelf plastic one and use the bottom shelf to house heavy stuff like sand, compost, gravel etc.  Thanks for your kind words.

I've got one like that, it's in it's second year, I love it! The only difference is that only half of my lid lifts up.

I fixed the back uprights to the wall behind - it's in a sheltered spot but I am very clumsy and liable to crash land in it occasionally. ::)

I'm sticking with the cheapo plastic covers. My plot's very sheltered with all the hedges around, and I find that the covers last several years. A more open site might be more of a problem though.
