Just found someone on Freecycle who is giving away rabbit poo, and can supply a weekly amount - does it have its uses on the plot?

Do they have LOTS of rabbits?! My first thought is that it would be a useful addition to the compost bins, but the next thing to think about is what is in with it. Is it just the poo, or is there bedding in with it? If there is bedding, is it straw/hay type stuff or wood shavings? If it's wood, it takes a while to rot down.
I would probably take it if it's free, waste not etc!

Heehee! Yeah, I think they're breeders - either that or they have one BIG rabbit with an equally big appetite! The advert says they have 30 fertiliser sacks! Ah, well I will e-mail them and ask what it is composed of, but if it has wood shavings then perhaps it could be used as a mulch? ( answering my own question here!!)

I would grab it, we used it when we bred our rabbits overseas and you can put it in fresh unlike most manures. XX Jeannine
