Title: worm eating slugs
Post by: coznbob on April 01, 2007, 19:55:41
Can someone please tell me that I am not going mad.

Down the plot today we have been digging and unearthed lots of orangey/ yellow slugs. We disposed of them as we found them and thought nothing of it.

However on picking up one of them it was eating a worm ???

Have tried to Google this type of slug but to no avail...

They can be carnivorous. If you chop one in half others will happily eat it.

Sorry if seemed a silly question, just had no idea that they ate worms!.......

Just another reason to hate them!

Could be (http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/8022/1412/320/Tiger%20Slug%201.jpg) Tiger slugs which eat other slugs (and worms and invertebrates) so are mainly friendlies and should be nurtured :)

they are the bin men of the slug world ie goodies, they don't eat your plants, and are quite pretty as proved by redclanger! /shades x
