Title: Water forget-me-nots
Post by: Marymary on March 30, 2007, 23:13:47
Watching GW earlier & they planted some water forget-me-nots in their pond.  I would like some & googled them but just descriptions - can't see where to buy them from.  Any ideas?

Shall be getting mine from here, if they haven't sold out!!! :o :o
(Some lovely colours here too!)  Go to "plants" then marginals, under "myosotis"!

I have loads of the stuff. I honestly wish I hadn't. It takes over everything else. Everytime I see it I take it out but it still comes back every year.

Thanks for the link DP.  Says it's not easy to grow Shirlton so you must be doing something special.  :)

Our pond is very informal and natural. It must be the condition of the water cos all the plants do  very well

Went to Swallow Aquatics today in Rayleigh and they had lots of these at £3.50 for a small pot full.  I was tempted, but am going to wait a couple of weeks until the pond is right ready.  ;D

Why is it so difficult to get seeds for these things.  we have had some lovely lobelia which grows in the water but i've never managed to find seeds.

Is that Lobelia Cardinalis -  purple leaves and long spires of red flowers?  if so, I think you can get seeds from Thompson and Morgans.
