Saw our first butterfly of the year yesterday - a Brimstone.
Sign of a good/lucky summer when the first butterfly you see is a yellow one, yes?
I do not know about lucky colours, but I saw a peacock butterfly on the 26th March in Liverpool
I hope to add a lot of wildlife shots to my allotment site on

hope it's not bad luck to see what looked like a cabbage white today, definitely a white one :o
I've seen loads of small tortoiseshells and the odd comma in the last few days.
Quite a few different butterfies around lately. Unfortunately a new Cabbage White appeared in the GH last weekend, so I let it out hopefully to be food for the birds.
Red admirals here... at least three...
;D
Tortoiseshells here in Edinburgh today and combined with the Great Tits singing loud and clear made me feel quite summery!
My plum tree in full blossom was covered in peacock butterflies today :) Lovely!
:)
fantastic day for butterflies today, Brimstones,Commas,Tortoiseshells,Peacocks,Small whites, lots of bees, millions of ladybirds ;D/shades x
i saw one "something" yesterday. didn't get chance to look at it properly so i'll pay more attention today.
;D
Comma Butterfly on a Rhody bush, taken about a week ago. Lots of them flying around at the moment, lovely butterfly with beautiful "crinkly" edges.

There are orange tips all over my site, far more than last year, along with the usual peacocks, red admirals, small tortoiseshells, commas and the odd brimstone.
I've been seeing red admirals all through the winter, tried a couple of times to take a piccie but they are too quick for me ::)
I have also seen quite a few cabbage whites :(
