Having seen some hares in the field ajoining my garden, I went and got my camera. Only one was there when I returned but I was amazed that when I stood still, it kept coming closer to me. Unfortunately the fence got in the way of what would have been very good close ups. As soon as I moved though to get a better picture, it took off up the field.
Aw Pauline those pictures are fantastic. You definately can see what you mean about him (it!) coming closer.
It is a pity about the fence in the last picture, but I think the fence makes the first two look authentic , rustic and true wildlife pictures. You know...caught on the hop sort of thing! They show exactly how you explained it happened.
That second picture is fabulous. I love it.
I haven't seen a hare for ages. Will you try to take some more pictures? Pleeease!
Wow - I have never seen a hare -thank you
how fantastic! I think heldi is right, the fence adds to the 'wildlife' aspect of the pic. What a lovely boy. He kept coming closer because.....he is mad!
Magnificent animal! Thanks for posting these Pauline.
Cheers,
Rob ;)
Greyhound attracted by reference to hares .... ;D
A couple of years ago I was out picking sloes and I actually stepped on a hare - put my foot right on him. He was off like greased lightning, immediately followed by

but she lost him in the woods.
He's lovely :)
