hello
i was bought a 'pepper garden' for Christmas it contains;
capsicum annuum yellow 10 seeds
capsicum annuum red 20 seeds
capsicum annuum green 20 seeds.
my question is are these all the same? i always thought peppers changed colour as they ripen? i have never grown peppers before so apologies if this is a really silly question ???
thank you, chelles xx
You are correct ;) They will look the same (green) until they ripen
thank you ;D ;D ;D
Good luck, sea chelles. I cannot grow peppers no matter how hard I try. They either wuther and die or get completely eaten by mystery bugs :o
If anyone has any fail proof advice I would be grateful.

This is true they are all initially green and change colour as they ripen.
However there are a few varieties that always remain green, you might have one of these!
This picture shows a red one on the turn;

The yellow ones will be a different variety to the red/green ones surely?

oops!! Of course they are ::) what I intended to get over was; in pic one they are green to start with and change colour to either red or yellow (and other colours) subject to variety!
Thanks for the pointer another one of my aged moments I guess !! :-[
thanks guys, i see your peppers are in the ground i was hoping to grow mine in pots indoors do you think they will be ok and give nice fruits? its just that im not sure i will have room for them in my tiny greenhouse!

Provided you use a good size pot - I reckon at least 10"
Keep them in a sunny position too.
