Found it?
Self-managed site, greenhouses, polytunnels, and sheds still standing, manure being delivered, barbecue area, foxes, water supply, old fruit trees, some stunningly beautiful plots - and beekeeping allowed! There's a beekeeper I know already there! :) :) :)
Vandalism - about twice a year, when sheds get broken into.
And plots immediately vacant - I'll have to clear, but it's only couch grass, a few raspberries, and plum tree suckers.
And VERY friendly people! It'll mean moving house - but I have to move soon anyway. The kids have a 24 deadline (or I disinherit the lot of them! :) )
Yup - everything that can be crossed is crossed!
All best - Gavin ----- and a heartfelt thank you to everybody for the messages of support.
Sounds like paradise Gavin! Everythings crossed here to for ya! ;D
How many vacant plots? Is there a waiting list if so can they be bribed? Can we all move house to go there?
That's as keen as an allotmenteer(?) can get I think - moving house to be near a better allotment!!
Seriously tho Great News Gavin
had to laugh out loud at the movin house bit but it sounds perfectly reasonable to me!
sounds like a great site - go for it!
It does sound "right up your street" Gavin. Grasp it with both hands. You deserve somewhere nice. All the best, busy_lizzie :D
Hope all goes well for you Gavin. My fingers are crossed for you 'en all lad.
Now I know what the saying "You can't keep a good man down" means....
Wa-hayyyyyy!
Second bit of jigsaw falls into place - got a nice flat in a multi-storey; views to die for. For those who know Leeds, it looks up the Wyke Beck - AND looks over the allotment site where I want my new plot. Less than five minutes walk away!
All that remains is catching the site secretary on the phone and confirming I'll take the plot he's reserved for me. Silly man - he spends far too much time on his plots!
A blank slate to start on! Eeeeeh, the excitement! Actually it's not quite blank - a heartily good crop of couch grass, window frames, cement blocks, and other goodies; but I'm really looking froward to clearing a new patch of land and bringing it back into cultivation.
Thank you, everybody, for your good wishes!
All best - Gavin
fantastic!
thank goodness you're not giving up!
Sounds as if you have got it made now Gavin. I am so pleased for you :D Don't forget to let us have photos of your new plot once you have got it up and running :)
Maybe you could take some piccies of your plot as it is at the moment Gavin? Then we can see the 'before and after shots'????? That way we can all be 'in on the act' from the start. ;D
Really glad everything is working out well for you. Fingers crossed you get a hold of the secretary soon to finalise things.
Eileen.
Great news Gavin. Will your flat have a balcony? then you could be like me and grow flowers there as well as on my lottie - or try to follow the Champ Moggle with all that she grows. I know that a lot of high flats don't have balconies now and anyway I am on the ground floor!!
Hope you get sorted soon so that you can catch up on the season a bit
brilliant news Gavin........good luck with it.........
Excellent news Gav !! Great to see you bounce back, full of enthusiasm again !! ;D Good luck!
Hoorah! Can't keep a good man down! ;D
Well done Gavin! :)
We knew you would do it......keep up the good work lotties4all rules!
