Hi I like to make cakes as a hobby too when not on the lottie.
This one I did this month for a 5 year old birthday. She wanted Sleeping Beauty.

WOW Jeannine!
you really are a clever lady, I bet Nikita was so pleased, what a lucky little girl.
Are you self taught or have you had classes? either way it looks fab and tell me did it taste as good as it looks??
VG x
Wow that is absolutely beautiful, there is no end to your talents! ;D ;D ;D
Hand embroidered quilt of course!!
fab ;D
Seriously, is there no end to your talents?
Looks great ;D
What a beautiful cake ! I would love to be given a cake like that and I'm 39!
That's fantastic! You are very clever :D
I refuse to read/look at your posts anymore. You are just too b***dy clever ;D Only joking of course, that is fantastic. For the record I can just about manage to sew a button on and just about cook a roast dinner.
Lorna.

I was thinking just the same thing, I don't seem to have the time or energy to blow me nose after I've done all the necessary jobs. I thought I would have plenty of time when I retired. Don't know why but I seem to have less. Its lovely to see all the lovely things you get to do though Jeanine
I have to confess, I did not design this, it is out of a book by Debbie Brown,Enchanted Cakes,I changed it somewhat but it is pretty much the same. It is all sugar, cake inside was half choc and half white.
It is not that difficult truly, just time consuming, with Regal Ice and colour it is like working with plastacine. I am fairly new to this type of decorating.
I used to do cakes years ago with Royal Icing, this is much easier, and I am used to working with clay.
I am afraid I am a workaholic, just can't sit still for long.
It really is very easy by the way. If you have a cake to do for a child, look on Debbie Browns site, it is stunning. All the directions are easy to follow, just give yourself time. I have another cake to do this weekend but not as pretty.

That is stunning Jeannine....the bed alone is just wonderful. However could the little girl bear to cut into it......oh and thanks for the Debbie Brown site......not that I intend to do anything but look at it ::), but think my dil will be interested 8)
Wow! That is fantastic Jeannine - you must have such patience, well done you :)
Just amazing, Jeannine! How on earth do you do all the things you do? ??? (I have this mental image of you with a needle and thread in one hand, a spade in the other and a wooden spoon in between your teeth! What are you taking - and please can I have a bucketful? ;)
I just get so envious of anyone who is good with their hands and you obviously have the magic touch Jeannine, well done, that is truly a lovely cake. I am just useless at most things. Jeannine, can you sing as well?? ;) ;) ;)
No I can't sing, and the cake is easy, It is not like in the old days when you had to do it all with a piping bag. It comes in a packet, ready mixed, you get a pattern, get your ready mixed icing, you roll it out , trace around a template, let it dry, assemble it like lego, only a very little bit is tricky. It is a sham. The first time I wanted to try it I had to get advise from someone and I was scared stiff, the friend told me it was easy, I thought she was nuts, but it is. You follow the pattern and it takes you through one step at a a time. XX Jeannine
Shhhhhh, Jeannine, don't go giving your secrets away ;)
No matter how much you protest, the rest of us think you're brill! :-*

Even with all that I couldn't produce such an end result. Cracking :)
That is lovely. I agree with Lish, Nikita's not going to want to cut it.
Jeannine that is abolsutely amazing, you are truly talented and i dont believe your "oh its easy" explanation for one minute ;D
There must be a worm hole.... but they carry it with them.. OH is from York, she spends more time out on the lotties than I do. Produced this and lots of other stuff in her "spare Time"

She says PS she works full time and commutes 70 miles a day...
::)
I'm doing something VERY wrong in my idle life ;D (too many afternoons plaing cards I think ;D)
Jeannine, stop it right now! You really must be the most patient person in the world, nay, universe!
Have told my friend, who has just started cake decorating course at the college to come on as guest to site to look at pics. She's very good herself, she made the most beautiful castle cake for my daughter using ice cream cones as the towers, and every one who said you wouldn't want to cut it- it's true, you feel like you would if you were slashing a canvas! :'( :'( :'(
No one will believe me when I say it wasn't difficult, I am decorating one tonight and I am more nervous of this one as it is not lego building XX Jeannine
