Post by: maddie on March 22, 2007, 14:56:00
I got a bit enthusiatic about all the seeds I bought in january, so I decided to plant a couple of them and grow them on my window sill until the weather warmed up. they grew really well, so whats the problem i here you say. Well .... i now have a two tomato plants at a foot and a foot and half tall, two chilli plants in bud and two pepper plants. the plants are getting to big too keep on the window sill but im worried if i put them into my cold greenhouse they will die. suggestions?  ???

I'd be tempted to put them into the cold greenhouse at the start of April.

table near the window (or ironing board even...what else do you use yours for? ::)) if it's still bitterly cold your way, or take them out to a greenhouse during the day & bring them back in at night until they can be left out all the time...I'd certainly repot the tom plant; remember you can bury most of that stem & this will give a sturdier plant later. Seems awfully large for this time of year?

You could always allow them to form sideshoots, use these to take cuttings & then use these to plant out

can I take cutting from my chili plant as you suggested Fly? (they survived the winter and are starting to flower) Or should I just let them be?
