Here we go again, another group of hopefulls chosen to represent the UK in the contest. A bit like lambs to the slaughter if you ask me.
Each year we choose our entry, hoping for sucess, and yet each year we come away with our tails between out legs, and the artist/group is never heard of again.
Just when will we realise just how politcal the contest is thse days, and that the longer we remain a political outcast in europe, with few friends, we will continue to do poorly, no matter how good our entry is.
I am wiling to bet that once we get out of Iraq and make a few friends in europe, suddenly we will get more votes at Eurovision, and maybe even have a chance of winning it again.
Is it just me or did Terry goof when he gave the result last night. I was only half watching but I thought he announced the wrong winner :o

Not sure, didnt see the results programme, just saw a report on the news this morning.
Did not watch TV last night but Yes our Terry did make a big Goof and announce the wrong winners !!!!!

Hi, we watched it and yes, sir terry did goof - oooops! And GC i agree totally with what you say, otherwise it's a pretty big coincidence that since we went to war in afghanistan & iraq we've had nil points!
scooch are a good try, but even though they look like rejects from The High Life, they're not remotely Gay Enough to win. My money's on the ukrainian transvestite Verka, tho the Russians don't like the lyrics "I want you to sing Russia goodbye......" tho Verka says (s)he sings " I want you to see lasha tumbai" - i want you to see churned butter
Its not like it was, I remember the days when it was all about transcending national borders with meaningless lyrics. And all the songs were called something like ‘Wim bima bang’
personaly i liked the big brothers and the fench singer....
At least if the french girl had won you might get 1 point ;D
Ireland will as usual be putting forward someone in the hope of NOT winning - afterall its taking part that counts.
I watched the first program and i did like terrys comments after the french woman sung and he tried to make out he was english ;D
However i will state the band i though should have one was - The proclaimers and andy pitkin and peter kay with i would walk 500 miles
why not merge euro into comic relief?
The year the UK got null point - can't remember name of band but they performed awfully - sounded out of tune at the beginning (I can sing like that)
so can i although glass also tends to break!

As I recall, technically they were out of tune - due to a headset comms problem, the singer could not hear, so was singing in the wrong key ...
I enjoyed the show last year, with Finland winning? (Lordi) We always used to make a fun evening of the show, making simple predictions for the top three, at least I got the winners right !

you said it. I think our Terence is well past hs sell by date. he should retire and take on an allotment. That would at least keep him off our screens. But he might find his way on here . dread the thought
Terry is OK. Still got it as far as i am concerned
Eurovision would be a complete turn off were it not for is sharp and witty commentary.
and the subtitles, they're hysterical, we reckon the person doing it gets more and more drunk as the programme goes on ;D ;D

I watch the Eurovision without Terry's commentary, which seems to have become more important than the event itself. I put on Radio 2 instead - Ken Bruce's commentary is absolutely superb!
