It's trying to here. Just had a little bit of hail and sleet and can see blue sky. but i don't think it's finished yet !

Nothing in Cambridgeshire at the moment - the sun is shining but the wind last night really got up - it certainly feels chillier!
Sunny here and still quite warm!

it's arrived in wigan in the form of a hail storm..blowing a gale, cold and battering down, poor Callum..our grandson is playing rugby this morning :(

Thanks sea chelles, my family said I was imagining it. I went for a ciggy too, here in sunny south devon and it was sort of snow/rain/sleety stuff :o
Sunshine and cold balsts of wind here in the Wirral for the last hour
NO SNOW ???

Windy, rain, sunshine, and snow in Nottingham. :-\
Blew a gale all night here, with rain, sleet, snow and sun this morning! Lost a tile which landed in my coldframe- haven't been out to inspect the damage to my seedlings yet. >:(At least the fence which has just been replaced after the last gales is still standing!
Very strong winds and hail in Lincoln. I feel so sorry for the poor tortoishell butterfly that I saw yesterday.
Blowing a gale here, and we've just had our first hail shower. Don't think it'll be the last though, the sky is full of clouds, but some blue bits too! Glad i'm not at work tomorrow ...
here in newbury we had high winds all night....actually that mite of been me... ::) ::)...no seriously it was windy all nite together with rain...we had a small hail shower about 11 ish but it has been bright and sunny most of the morning...hope it stays... want to get to the lottie to finish the raking of the beds ready for my spuds...
yesterday I went on the met office site & it said hail here at 12 midday. I read this out to OH who laughed. This morning has been blustery but sunny then at 5 to twelve...... yep, the sun went in & it hailed - they didn't get that right - five minutes early remarked OH! :)

hi
i only got up 2pm as i have another cold!
.........apparantly it was very sleety here for about 10 min but i did not see it myself.
The wind is howeling through the house and the lamp posts are waving at me...
...dont think i will be going to the allotment today.
Cambourne7
no lottie today as wind so strong i cant stand up properly. (maybe something to do with the wine last night).
seriously though, very windy, bright sunshine and blizzard snow and hail.
mix all this together at intervals through the day and it becomes really confusing!! ???
Thank goodness we had a good long day at the plot yesterday. had to go to the local patch to gather some broccolli. Was sure glad to get back indoors.Did manage to dry some washing though between showers of rain hail and snow.
big snow here now. and very very cold. it's trying to settle too.
Just went and stocked up with paraffin.
hey ace, we just got a bit more snow or was that from the coals on your barbie? lol ;D
Drove back from my mum's up the M11 a hour or so ago and could see the hail coming down miles ahead of me. When I hit Cambridge and was under the clouds, the wind really got up and blew the car about and it went eerily dark with the hail and sleet coming horizontally across the motorway. It was very strange for a few minutes as the traffic slowed right up and yet there was still blue sky in my rear view mirror but so dark where I was! By the time I got a few more miles up the road it was brilliant sunshine again and I could see people looking at my soaked car and headlights still on!! :o
Blue sky in Essex, but boy is that wind cold!
Cloudy and a bit chilly in S Lincs right now. One very sharp snow/hail storm in Bedfordshire earlier-we had taken mum out for lunch and were taking her home when it hit-the temp dropped from 7C to 0C in a matter of moments
Hail in Hastings on the South Coast
In Brum, s*ddit, ....it's here... >:(
Snow gone but fleece on ! 8)
And then, at 4pm, the second snow cloud came & went = 1/2" snow - just in time for the g/cs before they went back to London. We now have a large block of SNOW in our freezer for next w/e!
Just an odd snow shower here. Typical March weather, I don't know what the palaver was about.
Blowy all through the night here - much the same today while we were - ahem! - fitting new fence panels...
Hail for lunch, then squally showers all afternoon - chill factor ten on my shiverometer!
I told my son I was going to fleece my delicates... but he said I should just put on an extra jumper...
;D
;D ;D ;D
Rain, sun, loads of bloody wind and hailstones, no snow though. :( :( ??? 8) ;D ;D ;D
Cold....very...OH in the sitting room by open fire while I freeze to death in the outer environs trying to finish an essay..heating thermo turns off elsewhere when the fire's on. Ugh! Brrhhh...
Anyway, thanks for sharing my procrastination! No snow, but high winds and very chillly......here in Hants, heart in Cotswolds,
CLx
>:(
All day it's been v windy with the odd hail shower, now it's snowing!
It's finally stopped blowing a gale here but it's steadily snowing and the gritter has been past our house several times today.
And there's me planning a midweek break to Cornwall on Tuesday - must take my ski suit! Can anyone enlighten me on the weather in North Cornwall please?
Best bit about today was finding a huge muck pile just up the road, lovely black gold, well over a year old and full of worms - and free for the taking. It was worth braving the blizzard for, several bags already stacked at home.
Sand
No snow, no hail, nothing but a bit of a nippy breeze, just a normal march day.
bright sunshine here this morning, but bitterly cold and due to cloud over later.
Quandary before work. turn heaters off (or not).
As soon as the sun comes round the corner, the temp in the g/h will shoot up to 90c or so but will then drop like a stone as soon as the sun goes in.
Cook or freeze, that is the question !
Work just gets in the way, I wonder if i could call in and ask for time off to look after my babies ? ;D
Its 3" deep here
One mini storm for ten minutes which I was caught digging in and one flurry later. ;D ;D ;D

I had exactly the same quandry this morning - decided to cover everything in polythene & turn heater off - lit it as soon as I got home but max/min thermometre showed it had been up to 20 at some point.
What's 20 in old money ? It was 110 in mine after i got back from work ! ::)
everything got a good watering !
now back down to "feels like -8" tonight !!!! crazeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
;D
Snowed and hailed on and off all day yesterday - but didn't settle, however today it is coming down horizontally, the wind is incredible, couldn't even open front door, so decided not to go outdoors today! It's also very very cold, and I might have to run out to the shed to get more wood for the fire! :(
just got home yesterday when the heavy hail hit, in work now and feel crap! Typical going away and get another cold!
Temp has not gone much over 2 degrees :'(
Woke up to snow on the roof of the car. Then a real snowy sleety downpour made the kids all excited before going to school. Then, once they were safe in school, a sharp freezing hard downpour of rain. A bright middle of the day and the roads actually dried out....but all afternoon it has been a mix of rain, sleet, snow and hail. BBRR. Home now, been cooking, daughters 8th birthday tomoz, so have made the house warm and smell nice whilst getting things prepared. ;D
While you are all freezing over there on the north island, just remember today is the vernal equinox and the first day of spring.
I thought at least one of you would have been jumping, clapping and shouting it from the rooftops.
Back to the weather, still have not seen a drop of snow but had a lovely thunderstorm yesterday with hailstones the size of marbles. Today I would describe as most pleasent out of the wind.
According to my calender, the first day of Spring is tomorrow. ??? Who cares, it is still blinking cold! My guvna just delivered some turf for me to repair my lawn out the back....when will it be warm enough!!!!???? ;D
Bit funny, that? Just passed by to view Emma's post - lovely fine (brrrr) day here - and it's SNOWING again.
PS - Just realised why - I have garden help tomorrow!!
Brass monkeys with them winds today, with hailstones and a quick flurry of snow about 4.00pm. ;D ;D ;D
woke up to bright sunshine this morning, and a frozen birdbath!
don't want to even look at the state of the car yet!
