Anyone interested in letting A4A know where the snow is falling (when it arrives) and how bad it is.It might just help us plan a little bit in advance. ;) :)
if it gets here we'll let you know but wigan's too polluted for snow it usually rains..better get my snow boots out now ;D
Will let you all know too, but living by the sea, our chances greatly reduced.
We just get blown away instead ::)
By the time it hits you, it'll be too late for the rest of us!!
whoops! didn't think of that :P
happy to post if there is snow to forewarn the southern counties....assuming it doesnt start first thing - not a morning person ;D.
We usually dont get much being in a valley...but had 5inches in the last lot this year so might be on for some more if the conditions are right.

marg ???
I'd Be happy to report snow - if it ever got here which i very much doubt. I think this up coming 'cold snap'and associated snow is over - hyped, media scare mongering. Ok it will be colder than of late and we'll get some sharp frosts no doubt, but i doubt it will be as bad as there trying to make out its going to be (, in the south at least).
Basicaly its the long overdue once a month cold snap, that seems to have been the pattern this winter. it will last a few days then go mild again, so dont panic too much.
The thing that worries me most is that it does come after a very mild spell which has encouraged plants and wildlife into making an early spring start. I am concerned as to what a cold spell might do to both.
Yep, on our plot today, I saw so many bees, and a few wasps, but as the temperature started to drop, they were extremely slow and dopey, barely able to move by 5.30. Guessing they will die off and have to start all over again.
I am a little concerned about my purple beans, which I planted out la\st weekend. I got all over excited by the continuing good weather! GRRR! I have covered up with fleece, and added a small poly tunnel in the hopes they survive!
Good morning
its just finisihed snowing here in newtown ards Northern Ireland now its just sunny and very windy. Im off to start the big dig and hopefully , plant my new raspberry canes
Blowing a blizzard here at the moment but not lying.
Glad my seeds are still in their packets no worries there! ;)
Going out for lunch today Kids taking mother so I tag along.
So I think a few pints are the order of the day! 8)
Blowing a right old gale here in Dorset, but its nice and sunny with it. I did have things i planned to do in the garden today, still might brave it later and get something done. It just depends on what it does next out there.

Sleet showers, along with some rather painful hail down here in Norfolk, but apart from the evil gusts of wind, nothing major YET.

Had a few flakes in sutton on sea Lincolnshire not settled but had a few hail stones
We had the odd heavy snow shower but it didn't lie. Just typical March weather, nothing to write home about.
It snowed in Edinburgh overnight and was on the cars and rooftops till about 11am. Very cold though and also very windy. I did my paperwork instead of digging my plots. ::) :-[
Had a few sleet showers as well, its still blowing a gale and I seem to have everybody elses rubbish in my lottie. ;D
Just a nasty cold wind with rain thrown in, my in little corner of Essex.
I tried to post a reply to this but it seems to have disappeared
so I will try again.
It did snow in Hull earlier today but it did not bother me
I just sat in my NEW SHED it is not a brand new shed but it is
new to the plot. It is grat to have some where to sit out of the weather.
A contented Alan
It snowed on and off all day in West Yorkshire.
Rain and gales all night, woke up to winds,( must leave the pickled onions alone) but the streets were dry. The winds got stronger all afternoon with the sun shining, then rained for a while, sun back out, then hailstones, sun back out, made me bleeding dizzy. The world is coming to an end. :-X ;D ;D ;D
Really biting & string wind, couple of hail & rain showers but mostly just cold & sunny here.
freezing cold air and wind plus hailstones in Glasgow today.
Snow at 5pm yesterday in Bangor (north wales). White-out on the roads.
One shower - been & gone. But still 1/2" lying off the roads.
The slightest trace on roofs & cars, but nothing on the roads. It's looking fine & sunny. (But I think I'll wrap up when I walk the dogs!)
Snow on and off yesterday - kicked in proper at 6pm.
Woke up to a few inches, but clear blue skies.
Buxton Derbyshire
Wrong again.
And it's dustbin & recycling day!
snow and plenty of it here. (coastal suffolk)
I think i now have to eat my previous words. We had a couple of snow/sleet showers here last night. didnt settle but it was still snow!
Snow on 19th March. Crazy!
It blew through the Scottish Borders yesterday morning & there were a couple of scary hail storms on the way sarf.
Now in South Cheshire & it, here....it's gone...it's here.... it's gone.
Very much height dependent but the wind is bitter.
It snowed quite a bit in the Wilmslow area of Cheshire yesterday evening (Sunday). Was a good couple of inches on the car by the time we left at about 9pm. But no snow in Manchester yet.

On the 2 June 1975 snow prevented play in the county cricket match between Derbyshire and Lancashire!
:)

Just started snowing in Manchester! And it's settling.
First snow I remember here in a while.. usually a bit warmer than elsewhere as we're only 3 miles from city centre. Not good news for tadpoles. :(

Actually, no, snow gone now, and glorious sunshine out.
Ah, this weather's so much fun.
Just very cold wind here today, keeps going dark as if going to snow/hail, but then changes mind!
Just the odd flurry here in Birmingham.
3.p.m - sunshine streaming through the windows, trying to stay awake as I read the paper.
3.25 p.m. - sudden snow flurry, then the sun came back.
Funny old weather.
Snow, sleet, hail and sunshine here on and off in Kings Lynn today - Crazy weather. d**n us humans and all our pollutants!
More here this evening. And icily gusty.
Well I am up the road from Tin Shed so our blizzard hit us at 3pm when I was sitting in the car outside school. BBRR. Then about 30 minutes ago we have another flurry. It isn't settling, and it is quite granular. Blooming freezing though - a real shock after the last couple of weeks of sunshine.
19th March
Sun, then snow, then wind, then sun and wind, then snow, then more snow, then sun, then snow and wind.
Typical Scottish day.
Freezing winds and sun all day, went over the lottie about 2.30 stood there digging and was hit by a mini blizzard for about ten minutes but carried on finished the last bit and it stopped. Had a flurry about 4.15, windy now. ;D ;D ;D
The second flurry hasn't reached us yet, EJ - perhaps its changed its mind!!
I gather they've been having torrential hailstorms in mid-Cornwall. It always does torrential something (the local weather forecasters used to say 'precipitation' when they weren't sure what) any time there's a north wind coming off the sea.
Is drizzlinghere in Kings Lynn at the moment, and having looked at the met office website, the weather warnings have been cancelled, but it's forcasting -7 for tomorrow night!
March. Cambs. A short hailstorm early evening yesterday. Got up to a white covering this morning but the sun is now out and quickly getting rid of snow/hail.
Looks like it's our turn for the snow flurries today, the wind is as cold as ice. Had better go to allotment and check the greenhouse heating. :) (and read the seed packets) ;D ;)
not sure whats about to hit.
...just got in and was looking for my tape measure the front of the house although very very windy and cold there was a blue sky.
Walked into the house and looked out the back window and the sky is black its like night time.. :-[
Finally, the other shoe drops. Here west of London we've been living in a freeze-drying wind machine since Sunday morning.
But at last it's snowing. ;D
Sideways. ::)
Just had a sudden 10 minute snowstorm in the city of London.
Freezing winds all day, even the sheep on the fields had wooly hats on, then hailstones about 4.00 followed by a snow flurry. ;D ;D ;D
Snow last night and very briefly today here on the sarf coast. None of it settled of course. Blimmin freezing though, my that wind! :o
It was that cold today Emms, I'll be wearing two pairs of pants tomorrow. ;D ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D
couldn't stand more than half an hour in the freezing wind we had today. even when the sun was shining and the temp gage said 5 degrees, i still thought it was minus 5 :(
My sister had a bit of snow in Cornwall today, but none here yet (near Staines/Heathrow).
It's right windy though.
Left work this afternoon in the snow and it was coming in sideways!!! :o This is in Mid Sussex!
It was a mistake to wear the light jacket this morning. Tomorrow will be big coat again, or possibly ski jacket.
Snow in Bangor (north Wales) at 5pm and 7pm yesterday. Very light.
Cold and clear in Birmingham this morning, but the wind's dropped.
Still cold working in the winds today but nothing like yesterday, not a flurry in site. ;D ;D ;D
Snowing at 7:30 this morning in South West London but didn't settle.
Drizzling this morning, it's stopped now. It was still a bit chilly - obviously not so cold - but it's supposed to be warming up.
1/2" this am.
A tad warmer today, a small snow flurry for about an hour, too light to settle. ;D ;D ;D
