Post by: campanula on May 11, 2004, 00:27:45
No patience whatsoever (tim) - runners are about to raise the coldframe roof, french climbers already out (but wrapped in sorta fleecy tent ???) Anyone else got runners ready? too early to risk their little green lives with an East Anglian frost? what to do? Have been leaving lid open at night at least. cheers, suzy

Yup, all my beans are up.  Darn things are in a hurry!  They are going to have to go out either this weekend, or the long weekend at the end of the month, and I will have to pray for no more frosts.

I suppose my addiction to growing stuff that fails to sell has one plus point-I am never ready to look to my own garden until late ;).

Frost!  oh no!  Okay, I will keep closing my greenhouse at night then.  I was hoping to say, do you think fleece would be enough protection for my french beans which are through and galloping, if I did a tent like thingy like Campanula.......... :-\

Ye gods, here's me panicking because I only managed to get my runner beans planted today.

I wanted them in a fortnight ago but due to a combination of rain, more rain, even more rain, shift worker &, .......rain I've had to waite for my lottie to change from a pond back to a plot of land.   Whilst down there today I also manged to get in some dwarf french beans whilst the sweetcorn goes in tomorrow.
