Title: My bountiful lottie harvest today
Post by: Jeannine on March 09, 2007, 22:59:02
Well all this week I have been ill and unable to go out but this afternoon I took the plunge, wrapped up warm amd went for a lottie look see.

I found 1 brave asparagus which I promptly picked and had with my dinner this evening, talk about savouring every bite. It was delish.

Lovely Jeannine.  I popped to mine before collecting the sprogs and came away with a dozen daffs, a basket full of purple sprouting and 3 huge leeks.  Very pleased indeed.

Leeks too, & some brussels. I do get envious of those with early asparagus, can't wait until it comes!

I'm amazed by the early asparagus! I don't expect a peep from mine until mid-late April, and they are an early form.

I've been collecting purple sprouting, white sprouting, cavalo nero, leeks and parsley, plus last year's garlic.

leeks, salsify and sprouts for me. It'd be even better if salsify had any taste. BORING!

well it sure doesn`t taste like an oyster-give it three years before `chefs` discover it  and wonder why it costs an arm and a leg in Supermarkets

Try something new today?-we did sunshine

Scorzonera, lots of that bland stuff left too.

Maybe theres a good reason certain veg go out of fashion.
