If you look closely in the back ground as I'm taking the pics you might even see Sid the seven legged spider not sure how long spiders live but he has been there at least three years ;D

That's brilliant :o
I wish I could do that sort of thing. The way I make dibbers is the good old fashioned 'snap a spade' method :-[
cj :)
That is so clever, obviously Sid's impressed as he's hung around for so long to see the final result. :)
You've whetted my appetite - the smell of the oak, turning, must be great?
Fab! reminds me of Fred, my Grandads friend and his workshop. He helped me make a pair of stilts when I was about 8. I still need them actually, but as tim says, the smell of turning wood...mmmm.
This bit is a bit old Tim. It traveled from Australia and it has been drying for about two years but cedar is lovely to turn and fills the whole garden with sent :)
sanding sealant on

Well done Tim it looks great
Would love to be able to do some thing like that - but not got the skills
How long have you been turning wood ? and what else have you done ?
On and off for years used to use my dads lathe as a kid, but don't tend to get the time so much now

Fantastic piece of work Tim, you are indeed very talented.
Oooo. :o
*is mightily impressed*
Top bannana Tim I have written out my order I will pm you before the others get in. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D it now has an ebony point just need to make the brass tip then start the finishing process
more pics when the camera is charged :(
Looking good, Tim. I really regret leaving my wood turning lathe in the UK. To see the wood change from a 'block' to the round and then with a bit of M3 and a touch of sanding sealer all in a short space of time is a real delight....I'm not only a little envious....nice.
Ken
What size is the dibber tim ?
it will be about 112 when finished
now has an ebony tip and i have started on the brass

Fantastic. Makes me embarrassed to think of the 4 candle that I use.
