I've planted a tray of sald leaves and another of Rocket in my greenhouse. They've germinated ok but now I'm wondering if there is enough soil in a deep seed tray to support the plants to an 'edible' size. Should I consider transplanting into pots, individual cells etc?
Anyone out there doing something similar who could offer tips and advice?
Thanks TC ???
I'm doing the very same thing. Transplanted the Rocket into 3inch pots, keeping them frost free in my polytunnel, along with onions (from seed) and spuds in plastic buckets. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Cheers, Sid in Gateshead. ;D
I've got a polystyrene box we bought fish in, half filled with compost, lettuce are about 2" tall now, covered with fleece in the greenhouse..yum, fresh salad leaves soon ;D
Depends how big you want them before you eat them TC - should be fine for 'baby leaves'.
