Title: Lidl Bargains
Post by: Tinkie_Bear on March 01, 2007, 15:56:03
I had a very fruitful trip to my local Lidl this morning, bagged myself some bargains :-)

a thing that cuts round holes to plant into + 2 stainless trowels £2.99

a foam kneeler £1.49

2 x 2 x 5m mini poly tunnels inc. hoops and plastic £2.99 each

10m of weed control fabric £2.99

an outdoor doormat £1.69 - perfect for my very muddy wellies :-)

Worth a look if you have one near you, you can always check what's in store on their website, www.lidl.co.uk

I am going back on Saturday as it's goosgogs for 99p and 89p grow bags :-)

Just thought I'd share the joy.

Helen x

My son's girlfriend kindly went round to Hastings Lidl to get me 2 plastic tunnels, and reported that there were lots there on Thursday. They hadn't got change for a £10 note, so I've asked them to get me a third and keep the change for heating (freezing flat - we all have to wear blankets and coats).

My husband went a bit bananas and bought all the membrane left in ours. That was after he'd picked up chicken manure pellets in B&Q on B.O.G.O.F. (£7.99 FOR 10L)

TB my shopping was almost identical to yours.  I also bought 6 box plants for £3.99 which seemed a real bargain but not quite sure what to do with them - to plant a hedge round anything I need a load more which might require another trip tomorrow.  :)

I just noticed your ID, Barbaragood, excellent.  ;D

I'll try and get there today, but my local one in Feltham usually sells out very quickly.  :-\

THank you Tinkie Bear :D

4 mini poly tunnels and a roll of weed supressant.

Now for the grand plan.... what to put under them!

Better keep digging out the couch grass, don't want it getting all warm snuggly and happy underneath :(

Anyone put thier polytunnels up yet?  I put mine up on Saturday, despite the wind and a lack of real instructions on the box!  Found that I had to use string to attach the plastic sheeting to the poles, and bricks to hold the ends down, but look good - AND they've withstood the winds we've had here for the last three days!

I've had mine up for a couple of weeks already.  (I bought the tunnel last Autumn.) Last night's storm winds lifted the bricks I was using to hold one end down, but there was no damage. I guess all those little holes are there for a reason  8). Well pleased ;D.
