Title: Greenhouse spares
Post by: MrsKP on February 20, 2007, 06:59:11
An unashamed plug here !

I've used The Greenhouse Warehouse on ebay for ages now to get bits and bobs for the g/h.  Anything from bubblewrap, spacers etc etc.  I hate actually going out shopping, and do most on-line when at all possible.

Their service is always brilliant, lightning fast delivery and I've always been pleased with the quality of their goods.

Anyway, I've been looking for some crop head bolts to fix a shelf but found they only sold them in large packs, and you had to buy the nuts and bolts separately.

I found an alternative supplier this morning, but their P&P was prohibitive for one ickle pack, so I emailed TGW and asked if they would consider selling me a smaller quantity.

Within 10 mins of sending off the email, I got one back from Richard @ TGW saying he'd listed a pack of 10 (of each) at a far more affordable cost.

Transaction concluded!

So often we swap bad news stories, so thought this deserved a good news mention.  Hope Dan doesn't mind !

So round of applause for Richard at TGW.  Positive customer service in action.

Well done Mrs KP.

Nice to see a company helping out the "little man", as so many don't seem to give a d*mn nowadays. So well done Richard@TGW too.

As a newbie on here i find all your writings a great source of information, thankyou.
Now... i have just got hold of a second hand greenhouse with all the bits except the rubber edging that goes round before the glass goes in.
Please can you tell me if this is an essential part i need or is there an alternative i can use ( other than clear sealent in a tube).
Thanks. :

I think I read somewhere graham.p that you could use draft excluder (don't ask me where though).

as this is my first g/h (and brand new) it came with the rubber edging, so I used that.

others that have been at this game longer will I'm sure come up with some other ingenious devices !

and welcome btw.   ;D

i've had that site book marked for a while Lish.  They were the other supplier mentioned in my first post.  the P&P was a bit OTT which made me brush up on my negotiating techniques !!!!

I often browze there though.
