Hello all
i just wanted to let you know that there are mini greenhouses (green metal frame with a plastic cover) at poundstretcher for 9.99. they are around 4ft tall have lovely deep shelves and im going back for a second one today becuase i think thats a bargain.
Brilliant for all that hardening off to come.
Also placed inside a standard greenhouse where the wind will not blow it over and somewhere to chit spuds.
like Grant, I'm thinking of their value inside my cold greenhouse....gotta be good 8)......anyone seen them cheaper than 9.99 btw?
Scousers will. ;D ;D ;D
sorry to disappoint you, ck, cheapest I've seen is aldi, 11.99, also not needing one at the mo so not looking ;D
I would want to be able to stand up in one for that much lmao
Oh, would be great for chitting my potatos (I have so little space inside my flat). Does it come in a package small enough to carry home (hand or strapped to cycle)? I know it won't be very sturdy but I have some little hawthorne trees maybe I could strap it to just for a couple months. :)
Tina.
Got one from QS, sounds the same, price the same. Brilliant. Mines full of sweet peas (with door zipped open now) I put a couple of bricks in the bottom of mine for stability. Replacement covers available too, can't remember how much- but under a fiver.
Focus is doing a large Mini? 4 Shelf greenhouse for £12.49. Bought one the other day, much bigger than 3 shelf ones-well worth a look.
Oooh, I'l go have a look ;D
cj :)
Have got 4 shelf one from local tip keep in the conservatory (it just had broken leg so propped up with wooden block)
really impressed with it

OH bought me a 6x4 heavy duty greenhouse for xmas I have just put it together. Just put my big plant pots with my spuds in, my mini greenhouse, bag of compost and loads of pots and trays and still have room to swing a cat. ;D ;D

Don't though!!! Ouch! ;D
Actually I poo pooed these after my bad experience last year... but for germinating and getting seedlings going, ready to plant out on the plot they are brilliant... esp if you can open the door up in the day time when it gets warm and you know your chickens arent going to eat everything inside.... Might go and get another one!
Oh, you lot are lethal! After reading this thread the other day, I went into our local p'stretcher for the first time in my life (what a sheltered life i must've led :-X ) and found all sorts of gardening stuff! Ended up buying a tray of pots for all that potting on to come, 18 x 3" pots in a black carry tray thing (they call it a shuttle tray) for £1.99 - barg!!! I'm going back for several more next week ... ::)
Now you've convinced me I NEED one of these greenhouses too! I'm thinking of having it in the dining room by the patio doors to store the seed trays in whilst germinating & then can move it to the patio outside for hardening off? Now, i just need a good excuse as to why we need to buy yet more lottie related stuff .... :-\
Sowed some seeds in my new greenhouse today, I sowed cauliflower, peppers and cabbage. Nice and warm in there, might get a radio, a nice comfy chair and a few stellas in, told the oh and my girls I might be spending a bit more time in there, they let out a big cheer I think they were gutted it must be the shock. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You go for it gal ;D ;D ;D
On a similar theme, I got a decent set of greenhouse three-tier staging shelves from Wilko's last year for £7.99 - they fit on my windowsills (just). Today I saw the same at Poundstretcher, but for £9.99, so I may have to take a trip back to Wilkos. After all, I haven't been there for... oooh, at least a fortnight!

Yep, got one at the weekend for £9.95!! That 4p makes all the difference! It had a sticker saying "2006 Garden" so guess it must be last years, but can't even see there being a difference?
Emagggie - good idea about the bricks, mines inside at the mo but will prob move it outdoors when it gets warmer as I currently can't move in the patio now!
:)
Nice bargain Sal 4p is 4p. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
even cheaper at tesco store £7.99

You must be having withdrawal symptoms pmsl
Ohhhh, it hurts, it hurts!
;D
Tescos 2 tier for £7 today. :o
Went into Wilkies today and guess what. They had a lovely mini greenhouse. £20. Had to order one cos they had sold out. The one on show looked great. I am gonna put it inside my cold one for a bit of extra insulation. The staging looks and feels quite strong. It has 4 tiers. I will post a pic when it arrives.
Got a new cover for my 3 tier thats inside my 6x4 as you said Shirlton extra insulation 8), get them peppers going. ;D ;D ;D
aye and the aubergines. they are all up now but still on the windowsill.
Well, I never thought I'd see the day...
I've found one cheaper than Wilko's (Nurse! The screens!)
4-tier - with cover - from Robert Dyas - £12.99
What can I say?
cor!...and blimey!
;D
I say oh B*gger, I walked straight past today........Having had a good old seed sow-I need one.
Poundstrechers does have quite a lot of good offers.
I got some large pots 3.99 each and more seeds. The lettuce "All the year round" was excellent, but still having a problem with their mint seeds, they just dont germinate.
They stock Carters Seed, not bad, had a good tomato pack for £2, but the San Marzano 2 didnt grow too well.
My ordered one hasn't come yet. Will be too b****y late soon. Never mind will have it for next year. Gppd job the weather has been kind
Just been to Instore today (same company as Poundstretcher) and found those weird large plastic trug things - like a big floppy squidgy bag? - for £3.
